The tolerance on mine is pretty tight. I have had it seem impossible to shut and then realized I accidentally moved it off the right spot in the foam.

Others have taken to shaving down the foam insert to give it more wiggle room.

In the attic with the top panels inside. The Sunrider is the best mod ever.

I see last year I said I kept it under the seat. My collection of stuff I wanted in the truck has now changed that, interior storage is at a premium now, I keep the freedom panel bag in the bed under the tonneau cover. If I ever need the bed, then I toss the bag in the back seat temporarily. But I always want it with me, I'm very much the person that will take them off anywhere if weather permits, and always want them with me if weather gets sketchy.

I'm probably a good candidate for the sunrider, but cost vs. the 3 minutes it takes to remove the panels keeps my brain from allowing me to pull the trigger on it, and having to remove it every time I take off the full roof. To each their own, it's a great product, I just can't convince myself to do it.

Bestop Sunrider here, so the tops are in the bag in the garage, next to the front doors.

In the fall I'll take the sunrider off and put the tops back on. The bag will probably be thrown in the back seat area (tie-downs, winch cable, jacket, blanket, etc under the seat now) while empty, in the bed when full, under the tonneau cover.

This was my intention as well. I thought that the Freedom Panels would be quieter and warmer during the winter. Turned out that they were neither. As least not enough difference to give up the ability to flip the Sunrider back at a moment’s notice on those rare winter days when the temperature spikes a little. I live in Atlanta metro. If I still lived in Iowa I may feel differently.

We're in Colorado and feel the exact same. I'm glad you mentioned this because it's one of those things that means more coming from someone outside of the organization than it does from someone inside, but it's so very true.

I keep a military surplus hardigg case locked in the bed of my truck with that and some other essentials like towels and recovery straps in the bed of my truck. It’s my $40 solution to a tool box until I get a tonneau. Florida summers are too unpredictable to not keep my top close at hand when I’m topless.
