How heavy is your dead blow?I got the dynatrac ball joints. Uninstall went fine until I got to the knuckle. I’ve dead blown my arms dead and everything is covered in Wd40. Any ideas?
^^^ this ^^^ it's the resonation of the striking that will do it. for instance watch the Teraflex BJ install video and what they use... fast forward to 3:03the "ring" is what unseats the tapers.
I don't understand why you would strike the C and not the knuckle? The Teraflex video shows them striking the back side of the knuckle. So you're stripped down to just the knuckles? I'm assuming you've struck both the knuckles and "C" part of the axle? I'd recommend to use a non-dead blow hammer and go to a metallic head to send shock vibrations thru it.

Those are directly from DynaTrac's install page and I just wanted to bring it to light. I am not an expert, but I assume that because it's a non-aluminum surface that's why they tell you to strike there? Honestly, when I did mine, I tried both the knuckle and the "C". Striking multiple spots send different shock vibrations and I'm sure everything helps. I'm not advocating either method... I'm just suggesting to do both if it's stuckI don't understand why you would strike the C and not the knuckle? The Teraflex video shows them striking the back side of the knuckle.
When I do these I strike the "flat" part of the knuckle just below the yellow arrow in the Dynatrac picture.
OSHA doesn't do personal homes ?Got it! Thanks for the quick help!! I think I violated some OSHA rules with the way that ball joint press was used to get it out
Thank God, I'm like 90% sure my welding flip flops aren't approved footwearOSHA doesn't do personal homes ?
3 knuckles deep...uh........I was gonna suggest you not go past the first knuckle next time, but looks like you had a different problem.
