Perhaps a tiny amount but your gonna stuff a snubber or fully compress a spring in the process.

Rubicon axle articulation is mind blowing to watch for a stock factory vehicle.

Yep! I was thoroughly impressed with what mine can do in its current form. Tape measured 34" of vertical flex with 37" tires, stock Rubicon suspension, with a 2.5" front spacer, and a 1" rear spacer. Can't wait to see what it will do once I swap all that out, and install my EVO Mfg. Enforcer 2.5" Stage 2 Plus lift that's sitting in my storage unit. :muscle:

The pictures don't really do it justice... I'm not a short guy (~6'0"), and I took the pictures between face and chest height, so it makes the tires look bigger than the concrete ramp, but the ramp measures 36" at the flat top (starting where you see that form-seam that's almost under my tire), and I'm running 37" tires. Next time I ramp it I'll try to get some better (more accurately portraying) angles. I was just really excited how much flex it had, so I just snapped a few quick shots of it.

So you have the front sway disconnected obviously?

Yes. That is disconnected in 2wd (using the Tazer JL Mini), so the right rear tire would slip (spin-over a little bit) and I'd hear it, letting me know when I was at max flex, since I was by myself and didn't have a spotter.

I wonder if you would get even more flex if you disconnected the sway bar end links on both sides?

No, it was pretty much maxed-out with that spacer lift's abilities. My rear tires were stuffed, and with that 1" spacer, that was all the flex she had in the back-end...Which was my limiting factor. Because it stuffs the one rear tire with all the weight on it, and once it's maxed, it will start to pickup the other rear tire on the other side that has no weight on it (which is what causes the tire-slip)... The front could keep going (not much, but maybe could hit 36"), but the rear was maxed.

Now, once I snatch that spacer lift out, and put some real EVO 2.5" coils (front & rear), I should be able to get (just a guess), but 38+" of vertical articulation...If the front fenders don't rip off...So far, it seems to fit those 37's damn-near perfect! :like:

Looking at your bottom picture...

Looks like the end link is single shear on both ends..

Hmm....

I would like to weld a tab on the bottom to make a clevice and use a pip pin to quickly disconnect.

That just gave me an idea...

The disco only really needs a means to supply 12v power. Spring pressure holds it locked and 12v opens it.

All you would need is a relay and a switch source and it would be stand alone. Same is possible with the lockers. The factory setup interfaces with the pcm so it can only be activated in 4wd and speeds over X interrupt power so it locks up "for safety".
Any idea which pins need power? I got a good deal on a used bar and this is exactly what I had planned to do. I just don't know which pins to use. I don't want to have it interface with the truck, just power to unlock and power off to lock. I don't need a nanny light.

some one tried and went the other way. I had the knob on my JKU and it worked great. But I'd probably run the air now given the option.

Dude, you are a good salesman for the Tazer. I will bow to your awesome. You know your shit. I'll be pulling the trigger on the Tazer soon. I cannot imagine it would be cost effective to have a different harness. I hate not having all of my off road vitals on the dash screen.

I just harassed onX Offroad about their lack of interface with apple CarPlay. I want those maps on my dash. Anyone else wanna join that campaign?
AFAIK Gaia is the only similar option for CarPlay, and that is a major reason I chose them over onX.

Which is why I am asking people to message the onX offroad developers.
I want those maps on that center display. I'd like that touch screen interface. After getting back in on trail this weekend with my kids and finding it not marked properly the wise decision was to head back the way we came. No big deal, but frustrating.
This is what i get with off road trail apps. I believe Onx and tails offroad. Shows the full map on the display and can interact with the interface just like in the app. One requires an active membership to use carplay though.

If you find a used Rubicon takeoff at a reasonable price, I'd just add a regular 12v switch to run it. Trying to means it work like factory in a sport would likely be a nightmare of trim pieces, switch bezels, wiring harnesses, and ecm flashes just to end up with a sway bar that only disconnects below 15mph and in 4wd? Even with a Rubicon we run the tazer so that the sway bar doesn't function like stock. It's far more cost effective to run quick disconnects. For the money and headache you'd be in to trying to run the stock one I'd go with anti-rocks front and rear and not have to disconnect at all.
