Anyone else get the message "updating" when trying to use the tazer, then you wait and wait and wait and it doesn't change so you try to continue and after pressing left arrow and cancel a few times you can finally get past that message, then it pops up again while trying to go through the menu. That, a damn natt and this damn Florida humidity was really pissing me off, I think I finally got my tire size updated but I'm not 100% confident on that.
I have been running a Tazer Mini for a few years on my '21 Mojave and no issues. I am not an app or computer guy and I find it very easy to use, but I agree the instructions could be better written.

Oh great. I just ordered mine today. Ill let you know if mine does the same thing or not.
Strong advice: buy the SGW extension cable. Once you go under the dashboard to deal with the SGW plug, you will wish you did. I cut my hands getting it unplugged and had to get my wife to plug in the extension cable. It is fairly cheap and totally worth it!!

Beyond that, programming is confusing at first. Once you get the hang of it, it is a snap. I have had a few features drop out one time (click unlock five times to turn on my blazing bright Oracle reverse lights and turning on the backup camera when my blinker was on) but that was easily fixed. It just took a second to remember the scrolling process again.

Tip 2: print the instructions and take them out to the car with you. For me, it was way easier to flip through the papers than to scroll on a screen.

I love my Tazer and made a bunch of changes. Yes, navigation could be easier but it isn’t that big of a deal.

Thanks for the heads up on the extension cable. I did get one because of the amount of ppl saying its WAY easier with the extension cable - so I'm on the right track LOL.

My Tazer should arrive tomorrow - cant wait

The Tazer is a bit cumbersome but you can't really beat it for what it does for you at your fingertips. I user JScan for the stuff that I want permanent, like tire size and other things. I have the cool down setup for my diesel and a couple of other live settings.

Customer support is zero with the Tazer. I have one and done the gears and tires. If I ever have to take it out for dealer service I don't know what will happen when everything goes back to factory settings.

FWIW, when you unmarry it your tranny shift points won’t be right and it won’t “drive the same”. Personally, I unmarry and remove mine when I get to the dealership lot and then I reinstall and reprogram before I drive off the lot. It’s simple enough to do and you don’t have to worry about a “wonky” 10 mile (or whatever distance) drive you have to the dealership

'''''' and if the service department takes it out for a test drive the fun begins.

Yeah, it’s just not that egregious. It’s not like it will buck and toss or anything. The fuel efficiency just won’t be optimal because it’s shifting early or late. It’s really not an issue to drive it without the gears and tire size plugged in.

Total love hate relationship with the tazer. Follow the directions on reboot and sleep cycles EXPLICITLY! I wish there was a a MUCH improved PC based interface.....sheesh I tend to stay away from the "engine run" features. On the love side there a ton of very cool features if you have success making the "take".

I've had mine for several months....and I'll agree... the instructions are horrible. I printed out the manual so I'd know what each 'thing' does (or doesn't do). I have another sheet of paper with my own notes on it (for quick access).

At first, I was really intimidated by the thing and almost afraid to do anything with it. But now that I've taken it out, updated it, have done the whole sleep cylces & stuff a few times....
It's not nearly as intimidating as it used to be.

And yes... the "Updating" pops up often but its never prevented me from scrolling thru the menus.

The Engine ON - LIVE Settings are much easier to deal with. NO need to do any reboot or sleep cycles when changing the LIVE settings. Like...the Kill3Honk and the Hood Alarm...etc.

The 2 I have in our trucks have been flawless. But I need to update the firmware and I'm almost hesitant too. And yes, they're cumbersome as hell to figure out how to navigate through. Just remember after the full reboot, to complete the 2 sleep cycles.
I forgot the sleep cycles and wound up with a dead battery and on-going auto start stop error. (I have to take it in for the rear locker sensor issue, so haven’t destroyed my hand putting in the extension cable to keep from destroying my hand).

Tazer needs an app
Great idea. Bluetooth connected.

I’m trying to get winch mode to work on my 23 diesel. Zautomotive said “we’re working on it” almost 2 years ago. I pressed them recently… “are you really working on it?” and they replied with “we’re a small company”… so there’s that.

Has anyone set up the start-up disable ? I have to put my code in several times to disable it . Sometimes it does take the first time but many times it takes 3 tries ,I have tried with the brakes applied and with out the brakes applied does not matter .
