Tazer mini reverse lights stuck on?

I have had a Tazer mini (z automotive) for a bit over a year now. On 3 occasions my reverse lights have randomly been activated and the only way to shut them off (I found) has been to disconnect the Tazer. Keep in mind I drove on the highway at night in a rainstorm with them on unfortunately. After starting and restarting the truck I have timed them staying on for more than an hour before I interfered. After unplugging it promptly goes away.

This has happened in married and unmarried connections. I can’t seem to find in the documents a button I would have hit to enable this but I could have missed it. Anyone have any idea?

I have not emailed Zautomotive yet and with searching several ways have not found someone else with this issue. I will send them an email if there isn’t a easy feature to enable extra lighting somehow I overlooked.

And it’s only the reverse lights. Not a single other light is included witch makes me think it might be a bug.

Have you plugged a loptop into it and looked at the Data log after if happens? Also, there was an update back in November, did you install that on the mini?

Update to the latest firmware.
Check the website for the 'Live' features and how to use them. Some are activated by button presses on the Key Fob.

Never have checked the data log. And my last update was just after the first time it happened. I did update the device as I figured it was a glitch but I’m not certain when that was.

It's a matter of unlocking from the fob 5 times.
If you lock it too many times or something like that it will do that. Took me a minute to figure it out.
Try starting it. turning it off. get out lock it and then unlock it and get in normal...

This was a glitch in old firmware. Triggered by spamming the unlock button which turns them on. Sometimes they wouldn’t turn back off. Update should fix it.

I’m on the latest 11.4.4. I seem to accidentally turn on the backup lights with the fob all the time spamming unlock being OCD. I’ve never gotten them stuck on. I’ve found the number of button presses to be inconsistent, however it’s a wireless receiver so I’m not really concerned. It’s a very useful feature. I’m a little concerned about turning on the bed lights, not knowing I did so and draining my battery but the solution is to not spam the fob like a tool.

I have had a number of other issues with my Tazer, though. Cooldown mode randomly coming on while driving with cruise control on, winch mode doesn’t work. The dash display does its thing but the RPMs don’t rise. This may be a diesel issue. Anchor mode doesn’t work. Line lock doesn’t work. Rock crawl doesn’t work and turn assist doesn’t work. Maybe all of these are diesel issues. License plate light blackout when in reverse, one of the best features, randomly stops working. Passenger seat heater with remote start is inconsistent but then again the seat heaters working at all with remote start on the stock vehicle are inconsistent. I think that particular issue has been discussed as a last outside temp reading problem with the truck so that’s probably not Zs fault.

The one that really bothers me is that I’ve also had the truck go into dark mode while in adaptive cruise control and I changed the set speed. This was on either the previous or 2 updates ago. That’s pretty scary when all the lights in your Jeep, including headlights and dash and Uconnect go blank at 70 MPH. Those programmable buttons are supposed to be disabled when cruise control is on. I didn’t even assign dark mode to a button. There are definitely some bugs in the previous builds and even in the current one or there are inherent issues when it interfaces with the CAN bus system. I wish there was a master setting to disable All hot button functionality so you can’t even set them if you try.

Thanks everyone I guess I will dig out my laptop and update this thing.

I can see it being a useful feature for when dealing with a trailer at night or something else. Spam the fob till they come on and they go off in a few minutes or when you hit another button. I’d love that for loading the boat at night.
