The question is where does it write the data, would a full system reset clear it? As in unmarry from the original?

Hmmm I guess purchasing one for my Gladiator is not a good idea. The one I used in my JL Rubicon has it's share of hiccups also. It's been on a shelf now for a year.
You can use it in the Gladiator by purchasing an unlock code.

They don't have bad customer service. They have NO customer service. I fear the day that mine fails.

Yeah the Tazer isn't the most solid programming.

Mine will forget some of the live settings, like disabling the 3 honk, and I have to go into the live menu to get it to work again. I dont have to reset it, I just have to enter the menu. It's like the device goes into sleep mode or something and needs to be woken up.

I also tried setting up hot keys for sway bar kill, but when trying to use the button it kills my infotainment screen. The 2wd swaybar disconnect works, but randomly disables and enables traction and stability when used.

The instructions sheet is an unorganized jumbled mess.

If there were better solutions for auto start disable, 3 honk kill, and prevent sway bar from reconnection at a measly 18 mph, then I wouldn't use a Tazer anymore..

I haven't had any issues with their customer service other than it took them about a week or so to get back to me. They exchanged a pair of Locker Bypass for the OEM Locker Controllers for me for free and that was after I had already had them for over a year. It did take a little longer than I would have liked but it didn't cost me anything and I thought they would just tell me to kick rocks since it had been over a year but they exchanged them for me after I sent mine back in to them.

I think of the Tazer in the same light as the Chinesium Android radio in my e46. It's not perfect but it's close enough that it does what I want most of the time. Any time you're rooting around in the ever-more-complicated and locked down CANBUS systems you're going to run into issues.

It's been removed and unmarried from my JL. If I wanted to use it in the Gladiator, it should work by marrying it to that vehicle, correct? However, I'm reluctant based upon the number of issues with them.

Maybe we can think of Tazer the same way we think of Stellantis. Most of us don't see or have problems. We only hear of the ones having issues. I cannot say anything bad about my Tazer. It has worked for me. I have never had to contact customer service so I can't talk about that.

I’ve had the Kill3Honk stop working right before we went on vacation. No big deal…I didn’t have time to do anything with it. I checked the live menu and it was still enabled. Here’s the kicker…..we went on vacation and drove the jeep 10 hours to get there, parked it in the garage All week, and drove home another 10 hours.
The Kill3Honk fixed itself….. it started working again and I didn’t do a damn thing other than drive šŸ˜‰

My thought was…. knowing our beloved Uconnect sytem can be glitchy and often requires updates that you never know is occurring or has occurred. I’m sure the Tazer is dependent on the Jeep systems data/feedback to function. I mean…Typical electronics everywhere get ā€˜funky’ that require rebooting your phones and/or doing something else to re-establish connections, etc.

I guess I’m the odd man out. I’ve had my Tazer since 2018. I used it on one of the first JLs to market, then on a DT (5th Gen Ram), then a JT gas, then JT diesel, now on my new ’25 Jeep as well. All of the functions I use (winch mode, rear locker mapped to the ā€œupā€ button, speedo recal, fog light drop out, kill the 3 honks, etc. etc.) all work flawlessly all the time. I have never had customer service issues. When I send a text to the number described I get a response quickly.

Currently my Jeep is in its 3rd week at a dealership for repairs. I forgot to ā€œunmarryā€ the Tazer this time before I dropped it off. I hope they don’t flash the computer and screw me. But yeah, the Tazer and associated customer service has been great for me over the last 8 years.
