The French Canadian translation of truck is "camion" and it’s refering to real truck, Freightliner, Peterbilt, Mack, Kenworth, etc.

The pickup truck is called “camionnette” i.e. small truck...


*and here, too many guys and gals are mis-calling their SUV a Jeep... A sport-utility vehicle is not a Jeep... it’s a car! And a Jeep... is a Jeep!!!

i was just wondering what a Canadian would call a f150 or tacoma. "small truck"?

This thread reminds me of a good friend of mine. He is a hard working farmer. He looses his cool when someone calls a lawn more a tractor.

I bust his chops all the time calling my Cub a combine

but if you have a big John Deere, its a "Lawn and Garden Tractor". lol

i think in the USA anything with 4 wheels, a gas pedal and a bed is a TRUCK, except the Subaru Baja, and El camino, and Ranchero and..........

Whatever, the JT is a truck to me, you can call it a lollipop if you want to.

The El Camino and Ranchero are still more of a truck than a Ridgeline :P

Only in the USA, the rest of the world driving electric "cars" Could mean they're actually driving electric pickup trucks and can get plywood on their own. The future looks poopy in America. Lol

So, I’ve literally lost count how many times ppl on this site making references to the Jeep Gladiator as a “car” have been excoriated for not properly referring to it as a truck, or as a Jeep.


FYI, I have been listening to all the SUV HONDA CRV, FORD ESCAPE....... ETC people referring to their vehicles as cars for years now. So in return, I refer to my 3/4 ton Duramax diesel crew cab as a CAR.
i don't have small man' syndrome, or a need to feel better about myself by claiming that mine is bigger than theirs.
Be content knowing your own facts.
Or where to each their own.

I'm glad in Wisconsin we call even midsize "pickup" trucks, trucks.

I'd hate to have to upgrade to a big boy like this to call it a truck, cuz then i'll have to park like a jackass to fit in.

Teasing, i'm sure nobody on this site with a 1/2-1 ton truck parks like this.
