Not sure with how you questioned your question, but, yes, Jeep does have a factory installed winch option on certain models. I believe you can only buy the factory installed Warn through the dealer. It is not available on the open market.

Fixed it... sounded different in my head... lol hopefully better now.

The new trim called the spec ops comes with a warne winch factory installed. 8k capicity.

It supposedly adds 4k to the MSRP.

Keep an eye on Harbor Freight ads for that 12k Synthetic. It really is a heck of a deal. Decent warranty too.

Yes, I have the Harbor Freight Apex 12k Synthetic also. If you watch the sales, they have it for $500 or less often. I saw it for $480 a month ago. I did buy a more expensive winch plate than some here (Grimm) that was about $300 but it is one-piece and as solid as you would ever need. Probably thicker metal than the chassis. As long as you have the OEM steel "winch ready" bumper, it's as plug and play as you can get.

If you want to split that hair: Shadow Ops is a Convoy special edition Rubicon with a factory winch.

Standard Rubicons have a winch as an option that gets you the steel bumpers and the 8K winch.

Was looking for some U-Connect info on YouTube. Ran across a video on the factory installed winch. He noted how the cables as installed getting close to a few high wear items. Can't remember exactly which they were. It was a very pretty install, with all the cable stand offs. Had to agree with the routing not being something I'd want to do when bouncing around in the rocks.

When I installed the Warn 9.5cti winch (I've been using the heck out of this for over a decade) I found a way to snake the cabling under the air box and up behind the battery. Made for a very tidy, tight and clean install without worry of chaffing the cables.
In this picture you can see how concealed the cabling is. I liked this routing better than when it was in the JKU.

One thing to watch for is the physical size of the winch. Seems like the frame horns are closer together on the JT, than on the older JKs.
This winch set close to center on the JKU Rubicon. As you can see in the picture below it is very much off set in the JT. The Warn 9.5cti winch has a big motor compared to some of the newer winches. I've got it pushed as far passenger as possible and still access the nuts securing the bumper.
Someone new to winching could get themselves in a lot of trouble with this much offset.

For this JT, I bought the Carnivore Winch plate from Quadratec for the Rubicon Steel Bumper.
Pretty stout, and allowed using the original bumper support brackets, instead of the included stack of washers. Makes for a clean install.
Also reasonably priced compared to the competition.
They use a really nice thick paper for the poorly written instructions. Worked great for repainting the fairlead. Best use I could figure for them.
