Nope, been there done that, paid the fines.
Cool story bro. That makes two of us. The OP posted to show off something that makes him happy. He didn’t ask for the opinions of the tint police of the forum. I’m pretty sure that he didn’t move to Idaho yesterday and have his JT tinted today, he’s aware of the law. He never requested the unwanted opinions of others on HIS window tint.

As I didn't request your interpretation of his or my posts.

I know what he was doing , as I've been around longer than most on these boards, I'm trying to relate what may happen to him. If he happens to find that one prick local cop, his piece of paper isn't going to gain him back any of the lost time he'll have.

If you don't want advice from people that have actually lived through it, move on to the next post.

"Bro" I am not.

I have 80% ceramic tint on mine and you can't even tell from the inside of the car. Never had an issue in CA or TX and CA is very strict on tint. It could be me but I also think it helps with keeping it from cracking or breaking. I've had a few rocks hit it and it has not chipped or cracked.

That looks awesome. Same, sitting in side you can't tell. Have you ever done that liquid protectant the tint guys offer to stop cracking? I was considering the treatment for $80 but was not so sure how it worked. Whatever they do on the window, the guy was a friend so I trusted his opinion, but still on the fence with that one.

I merely made a statement.

I am pretty sure he is already aware of one prick local cop that you speak of. It is in fact HIS time to lose, not yours. This is where the unwanted opinion of others comes in.

If you don't want advice from people that have actually lived through it, move on to the next post.

Not one word of his OP requested any advice that you speak of. You should use your own advice and move on to the next post if you do not agree with HIS window tint "Bro".

"Bro" I am not.

I tinted my windshield with ceramic 70%. You can't even tell it is in my windshield. I used Sticker Shield for the inspection sticker and the monthly car wash sicker in case I have to change the windshield, I can easily take them off and put them on the new windshield.

My front windows have 50% on them. I ordered new non tinted back door glass so I can tint them 50% also. As soon as the weather gets a little better I am taking my rear window out and having a solid one piece window made, I am going to tint that 50% as well...

As for tint laws, I don’t know about other states, but I do know that New York has a form that you can fill out. If your doctor agrees that you get migraines on a regular basis you can be granted a tint exemption and tint however, the hell you want, Food for thought
Other states may also have this.

My local tint shop in NC won't tint windshields at any price. I added the hood decal over the scoop on the Mojave and it keeps glare down a lot.

OP posted this thing online in an online discussion forum for no one to comment on? What are you doing here then?

I’ve already clarified what you’re asking. My point is that the OP did not make this post for a bunch of keyboard cops to come in and give him his local window tint laws. If people don’t like his choice of tint they should move on without giving their unwarranted opinion. As previously stated, he did not ask for any advice on having tint applied. He posted to show off his already tinted windows that attract useless replies that give no value to the OP. We are all aware of traffic laws. No need to regurgitate it over and over.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea
One of the issues with posting stuff like this in a national forum is regional attitudes creeping into the discussion. For example: in my area (Philadelphia suburb) the only people with tinted windshields are clapped out altimas with body damage from accidents that almost certainly happened while un-insured, else they would have been repaired by now (you see the same ones over and over, they aren't waiting 6 months for body shops to get parts).

So while i don't necessarily hate the windshield tint, it does evoke negative connotations from my past experiences of the countless near-accidents i've had with people who've made the same aesthetic decisions.

Hold up pause the argument while I make some popcorn.

Aside from that - I have my door windows tinted and I have to roll them down sometimes at night. I cant imagine having my windshield done - then again, yall prolly have better eyes than me.

Has anyone done like a clear, antiglare tint on the windshield? Is that even a thing? One that wouldnt darken it but reduce glare? As the others have mentioned, White JT hood glare is a thing ?

Had eye surgery in 2011, haven't been outside without sunglasses on ever since - even when overcast. Hell even at the doctor's office with those bright fluorescents I wear glasses inside.

I had the tinting exemption in NC, doctor's orders, all that. When I moved to NJ the application was such a PITA I just tinted without the documentation. They want so much specific information that it's not possible for many of us that actually need tint.

Anyway totally off topic, looks good! ?

I find it hard to believe at night you have no issues with visibility. My buddy had it on his windshield and he had to put his windows down to see what's coming at night at stop signs. I'll pass!! Wear some sunglasses if your having issues like that. North Carolina troopers would have you pulled over every day regardless of a prescription and the prosecutor in Cabarrus county would probably ask for your medical records to prove the prescription
