Aight so it seems alot of what i ended up discussing with people today was towing related. It all got started when someone posted that towing with a gladiator sucked. subjective, but hey thats why we have forums. Anyway here's a vid of my 23' JTM pulling 7ish thousand pounds. Should I have? hell no! Was it cool AF, imo, hell yes!

DISCLAIMER!!!!! DO NOT FOLLOW MY EXAMPLE. PLEASE FOLLOW YOUR TRUCKS SPECIFIC STICKERED TOWING CAPACITY.

The Gladiator is plenty capable of towing 7klbs if equipped for that. If I was going to tow that much on a regular basis, I would use something else. If I was to go across the country, I would use something else. If you are limited with your towing options, use what you have and stay within the limits. Some will say how awesome the Gladiator pulls and some will say the opposite. I wouldn't say the Gladiator is awesome for towing only because I have something that is. It does fine, I will say.

I have 37BFG KO2s and 4.88 gears on my '22 Rubicon. no tow package. How much of a Camping trailer can I tow with a WD hitch?

What the book says and subtract some for the tires and any lift. WSH doesn't change anything as far as capacity at all and doesn't change max tongue weight. If the book says 7,000 (Rubicon appears to be the same tow package or not) then you are talking probably closer to 6500 pounds.

As always, refer to the manual (referring to the book most likely happens in other countries, the USA, not so much)

Any mods like lifts, tires, changing the weight or height, rolling mass, whatever, drops from those numbers - on any truck.

It looks like you got the tiny bit of sway I got when using one of those #2200 Uhaul trailers. I finally bought my own at almost half the weight.
As I always say, you can easily tow over 7k with a JT: you will feel very safe but you won't win any uphill races.
Every time I roll into a Jeep event with the TJ on the back I get a 1000 questions from the guys towing with "real" pickups.

Yeah this was a once a year thing. towing one of my buddy's broke rig 30 miles or so. happens occasionally and she'll do the job. I like how well she tows my 4k camper tho, she may be hella lighter than my Tundra was, but i notice the better things other than weight. Better control from the multi link rear rather than leaf springs, better control with 8 gear options for ascent or descent, etc. it is definitely one of the lightest trucks i've ever driven/owned.

Beautiful GX man. Any pics of it?
yeah actually. I'll post from my phone in a minute. Just spent quite a few hours last month massaging her to get 35's to fit.

yeah uhaul trailers suck especially with their brake setup. My buddy and I plan on opening a 4x4 shop in NOVA so we will invest in a trailer then. for now u haul will do in a pinch.

This it still on 33s. I don’t have much of it on 35’s cus we just did it and we broke her. Snapped a CV on trail last weekend in the snow and blew her power steering rack after we got her back on the road. I had just replaced it too. She’s a money pit and one of the same reasons I got rid of my Tundra. My Tundra would break to the tune of 2-3k a month. Figured it was cheaper to go buy a new truck at that point.
