Track bar contacting frame mount

Hey all. I searched around for this issue but couldn’t find it. I installed a rock krawler adjustable track bar with a mopar lift and afterwards I picked up a shimmy going over bumps at highway speeds. I noticed this during my investigation and it doesn’t seem like it is right. Is this enough contact to cause an issue?

At the very least, it should not be making contact. I could be wrong, but my brain is visualizing a potential issue with achieving proper torque on that bolt. It may be enough interference to keep that bracket from "squishing" together sufficiently to put a proper clamping force on the bushing. If the bushing isn't tight, might cause some shimmy. $0.02.

It's pretty common with most Jeeps to have variances in the bracketry and flashings. Each one off the assembly line have subtle differences. I'd recommend clearance the frame bracket so the bushing is free and eliminate distortion. Spray on a little paint after to control the rust.

Negative, the bend runs forward. Its installed correctly.

After my initial post I noticed the grease zirk so I edited it

25+ years of doing installations on Jeep vehicles. This will not take away any of the strength at all. You can also give RK a call to confirm.

I think I'd try putting a large adjustable wrench on that tab and see if I could bend it out just enough before going to the grinder.

I have the same RK bar and the same contact. It has not caused me any sort of negative driving, but I am also running a full 3" RK kit with the parts adjusted to their base recommendations then fine adjustment.

I have been to lazy to pull the bar and either bend or chamfer the mount. I figure I will let it sort it's self out.

I would look else where for your driving issue.

I had the same problem out of a different brand trackbar. Mine would rub the mount and make sounds like crazy. I had them let me return it and went for clayton trackbars. Theirs have a flat spot on the trackbar in that area to clear the mount.

Every time we modify the suspension (lift kits) we change all suspension angles, therefore adjustments must be made to realign all parts. When we add after market parts they need to have sufficient adjustment qualities and be properly engineered for the job at hand.

Should not be contacting bracket, period. I know MetalCloak makes one of the best Track bars out there (IMO) they come with durotrac bushings to keep contact straight and true. Metalcloak's Durotrak Track Bar, Solid Chromoly, Front, Jeep JL Wrangler JT Gladiator
