Just did the kbb instant cash offer, was about $2k less than Carvana

I've only been doing all this just for fun, I have no interest in hunting for another new vehicle at this point in time, just have been curious

Picked up my Gladiator Rubicon yesterday....I still have trouble understanding how Carvana is able to sell my Overland after paying over sticker price for it. Even more interesting, there are plenty of Gladiators available in my area, and I received $1,250 in Jeep rebates. Anyway, I'm posting my sticker price and Carvana offer just for those who may want proof.

I believe you. I just purchased my most recent JT less than 1 month ago, MSRP $50,415 and purchase price after discounts and rebates was $41,609.
Just for the heck of it I plugged in my VIN on Carvana today and they want to give me $48,167 for my truck. So driving it off the lot I made $6,558 profit. Unreal! I’m not interested in playing this flipping game but if I was........

Just got another KBB instant cash offer. Now it's up to $44.4k. This is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.

I'm emailing with the bulk dealer I got the Sport S from with this idea of upgrading. We'll see what numbers he comes back with. I just want a really basic Rubicon with a few extras (LED lights, Rock Trac, auto). If he can factory order it and take my Sport S now for that kind of a trade in value, I'm doing it. I don't even care if it takes months for the order to come in... I can live without it for a while. Just want to capitalize on this craziness if I can!

Not sure where your located, but check Auto Lenders. They do a virtual inspection of your car with you and your phone. I did it last Thursday with my 2016 JKU and gave me $30,000. I only paid $37k out the door over 5 years ago. Was the easiest transition ever!

Ok, I sold it. $44.4k which was $2k over MSRP on a year and a half old JT. I paid $38k for it. After considering taxes and hopefully a prorated refund on the extended warranty, I'll make a bit of money on the whole deal.

Super excited! I'm gonna sit on the money and hope the 4xe is announced this winter for the 2022 model year.

Sold my immaculate 2014 GMC 2500HD Denali 4x4 a couple weeks ago for the exact same price I paid for it in 2016! Bought my 2020 JT Rubicon to use instead.

Carvana's offer to me for my 2017 JK two door manual went UP over $1600 in one week. I'm gonna let it go and pocket a bunch of cash

Local dealer has a Launch Edition for $50k w/ 20,000 miles….Really considering trading in my Sport S for it.

Anything in particular in need to look for on the Launch Edition should I decide to pull the trigger?

The only thing keeping me from testing the waters here is the suspension and wheels/tires. I have a 2020 overland with 2.5” Clayton kit. If I’m trading in it’s going to be for a rubicon. Would a dealer be willing to swap the suspension and wheels/tires? I have to pay for labor of course but he would get a used overland with a new rubicon suspension, wheels and tires to sell and I get a rubicon with the suspension I want.

It makes sense to me as a win win which is probably why they won’t go for it.

I still think that is overpriced given that Launch Editions could be had in the $55K range new 6+ months ago. Used with 20K miles at $50K would be a tough sell on me.

Eventually this high market used pricing is going to crash and people who bought into it now will be taking it in the shorts trading/selling a few years down the road.

Good to know. I'll be sure to use that as bargaining power.

Just keep in mind that it is bizarro world for the current market that is a sellers market and not a buyers one. So I do not know how much leverage that would get you today.

I 100% agree w/ you - my goal is to basically not take a loss on my existing Sport S (I didn't put any $ down) and 'upgrade' to a Rubicon package. If it works out, great, if it doesn't, oh well, I'll just get one in the future instead.
