very nice. How thick is the mat? and did you have any leftover to cover the tailgate?
If you make your first cut the shortening to length cut you'll have plenty to do the tailgate if you want to (I did not want to). It's maybe 1/4"-5/16", plenty substantial, weighs probably 50-60 pounds.

nice, I didn't want to do horse mat as 1" thick is using up valuable space. 1/4-5/16" is perfect!

Curious why didn't you want the tailgate covered?

Horse stall mat has to be pieced together to cover all of the floor, and generally looks shitty when that is done.

I've had mats on tailgates before, but I've never had a mat on a tailgate that I didn't have to go back and tighten habitually until the day I pull the threads. If I ever did it again, I'd install rivnuts and use some thread locker. But I don't really see the virtue, yes my tailgate gets skinned up, personal choice I suppose. The worst I ever had was a piece of aluminum diamond plate. Seemed like a great idea, it wasn't and it sucked.

Hey @steffen707 please see these posts. I had plenty left over for my tailgate.

Looks great @bgenlvtex. I have a mat on order, gets to me tomorrow. It’s 5/16” thick. I got one 7’ long so I would have enough left over material to also cover the tailgate. Getting mine from www.realtruck.com

I know that I will unplug my bike rack from the trailer hitch and will put it into the bed and will want to protect the tailgate from getting all scratched up.

I like the silver color of your truck. That’s one of 3 color choices I am considering. Also want to see a Gladiator in Sting Grey and in Gobi before I decide which color to order.

Hey @ralphjjr I looked at those horse stall liners and decided not to go with them. They are not big enough to cover the entire bed. So you would have to have 2 pieces in the bed and I would like the look of just one piece in the bed. They are heavy as can be and will more than likely have to be cut with a skill saw. And the ones I saw at Tractor Supply looked to be brittle. Some edges broken off in chunks.

I hate the idea of having to drill holes into the tailgate to attach a mat to the tailgate with screws. Anyone know of a better way to do that? Thanks to advise.

Thanks @Jake not from state farm, lol

Yeah i searched for that part number, didn't realize it was 5'x7', i need to read slower I think......lol

I might just bite the bullet and do that. I did my anti-fatigue mat one cuz I needed a quick solution to go up to U.P. to fix my deer stand, but now that i'm home, i should figure a more permanent fix.

Any made-to-fit Gladiator rubber mats available yet?

Thanks. I don't care for Bedrug's materials. Just looking for a regular old made-to-fit rubber bed mat. I'm sure there will be many available soon. Surprised it's taking so long for such a basic item.
