Take some better lines to keep the rear off the rocks:rock:. Ran the Rubicon last year with mine and only tagged the rear bumper a couple times. A little black paint and it is all good.

The rubicon trail was actually fine with mine as well. And that’s when I was in the 3.5” lift ballpark. On a lot of trails, the approach is so steep that there aren’t great options for the rear bumper. I agree though. That’s why it’s still Oem. This is my second one from a friend’s generous take off gift.

I picked up a Relentless Fab rear with lights powdered coated and the flip up license plate mount for $1000 locally used, sold my rear for $300. Towing is easy just flip up the License plate. I have no issue not carrying a spare, haven't carried one in years. You can order one with a swing tire carrier.

I swapped both front and rear OEM bumpers for steel back in 2021, for the front I went with a WARN
full width Crawler to mate with my Warn winch, choices for the rear were few at the time but I chose a Fishbone because it came drilled for the sensors. The Fishbone does fit well, maybe a bit too well
as it snugs right up to the body and now after several winters rust has become an issue and the
best fix would be to remove and sand or blast it before repainting as there is no room to get behind it.

Dan you won’t get your 37” spare under the truck with Relentless bumper. You know how I research everything too much , Eric on here put one on and measured from center of spare bracket bolt to relentless tow hitch , 13” is all there is . Perhaps myself with vision and luck and a bit of pushing and deflating can get my 33.3” tire under there but you won’t!
As for towing with it I would!…..Jack

I have tapped mine several times and is exactly why I have not changed mine either ...lol its funny we both kept for same reason. I also rationalize that it saves weight for other things I want to through in the back prior to taking off.

I’ve been rabbit holing on the net for weeks regarding a good replacement rear bumper. My requirements are good either integrated or add-on bed sliders, compatibility with a hitch for actual towing (currently have Oem receiver), higher clearance than stock, sensor holes for Oem sensors. Not a deal breaker, but my preference would not be to put the plate on the tailgate. Even if it needs to be removed or flipped up for wheeling.

Price does matter unfortunately. My second steel mopar bumper is still viable, so if it’s too expensive right now, it can go back on for now.

I like the Savvy stuff, and it’s on this list, but I’m not crazy about the bed protection. This one from cavfab doesn’t look bad. But I’m open to suggestions. That’s the reason for this thread. Thanks!

I really like the Nemesis aluminum bumper. The only thing is that there is no place for optional lighting.

I’m a huge nvm fan. To be honest, the only thing that stops me from this one is my concern about tearing it up. I have their front bumper and it’s just so pretty. :) I hit the rear bumper constantly.
This might be a good time to build one, you know what you want and how you use them…leave the stock receiver and structure alone (so you won’t be risking anything when your towing) do your design around those two items. Sch 80 steel pipe, will handle tons of rocks with almost no damage, just rattle can it flat black and your ready for the next trail, add as many light brackets as you want. You can add tow points directly to the rear frame openings. Hell meet me half way and I‘ll loan you my air/hydraulic bender, I have 2” and 1.5” dies.

I’ve been strongly considering that actually. I’m no engineer, so I’d leave the rubicon bed sliders, and build off of those and the frame mounts. I don’t know how well it would turn out with my welding, but it sounds fun. Maybe I’ll just put the old bumper back on and tackle that in the winter.

If you’re going for a beauty contest, just tack everything in place and hire out the finish weld out.
