Soooo, what you’re trying to say is you’re due for a claim. Just kidding just kidding (I hope I didn’t jinx you).
I raised mine to $1,000 deductible a few years ago when they first started raising prices. Insurance is getting crazy (in California anyways).
Dude it's insane everywhere in WV we pay extra for people who dont have insurance..its Ludacris

Tell that to Apple, Samsung and others.
Yeah, it is - far more.

the problem is people just don't get the science behind those windshields, what they do or don't do.

It CAN crack, it CAN chip - but in reality, it's NOT the GG that is chipping or cracking, it's the OUTWARD later or ordinary soda lime glass. The GG is denser and can actually absorb some of the energy of impact - resulting in studies from multiple companies showing a reduction in cracks of ~60%.
Will or can that outer layer still bust? Sure. But will it do so as often as without GG? No.
Well, let me ask ya this if it can be failed by an inspection for a cracked outter layer then is it really worth the extra cost . If they fail it here it has to be replaced .

No extra cost for many of us - glass coverage. If it came from the factory with it, then it's covered for many Jeep owners.
And - it's likely to fail LESS often.
You have to assess your own risks.

I bought my 2024 Jeep Gladiator Moja in August of 2024. It came with Gorilla Glass, which I heard was more durable. Since then it cracked in multiple places, mainly from rocks kicked up on the highway. I am trying to have the windshield replaced using USAA and Safelite. They have called the dealer, and were told that glass is on back order, with no ETA. I live in Charleston, SC, and wanted to find out if anyone else has heard of this shortage? Not sure if this was regional? I have been waiting 2 months now, so I figured I would reach out to you guys to see if you have heard anything.
Just get a regular OEM windshield and then put this on it right away ExoShield ULTRA. This has been on my jeep since my old window took stone and broke a year ago and its has saved my new windshield many times already. In addition to being able to take a serious hit without a mark it disperses the energy so much that the rocks just bounce off without a mark. It also doesn't pit like the OEM windshield does so you don't end up with the sandblast or the scratches from wipers that show up when you have the sun shinning on the windshield. I have had new windshields destroyed within a week by gravel trucks carrying sand and you can watch the pitting in real time or the scratching that wipers inevitably do. They are supposed to last a year minimum but mine looks as good as the day I installed it still. The thing with Gorilla glass is that the "Gorilla" layer is on the inside so the outside glass still gets pitted and scratched just like regular glass. From what I researched it really doesn't do much like I thought and the glass company confirmed that when I was asking about ordering that as replacement. This Exoshield stuff is like a screen protector on a phone only much stronger. The best part is I can replace it if it starts to look scratched and my original new windshield under it is as crystal clear as the day they installed it. Insurance companies should be giving these away. I asked the company if they have considered making the product for other vehicles because I would love to put this on all my cars. Anyway cant say enough good about it from my experience.

Well in WV there are Soooo many reasons roadwise to buy the cheapest glass available . And I still had to pay 500.00 deductible. One time I just left have a new windshield put in got 15 min. Down the road and a pick up truck passed me and flung a big rock and it hit dead in the middle of that new windshield . And there went another 500.00 bucks.

I have gorilla glass on my 2022 gladiator, and like most people I got a crack from a rock. Have you talked to the dealership about the two-year warranty that comes with gorilla glass? The dealership I talked to replaced mine for free, under warranty. Yours being a 2024 model, you’re obviously within the two year window. Also they will only do one replacement. I haven’t read all the post on here to see if you may have already done that, but if not talk to your dealer about it. I am including a link to the PDF regarding the warranty, but also attached the PDF.

Hi Jason,
If you send me your VIN I can verify the part number and check current inventory levels.

Thanks

Gorilla Glass wasn't an option when I bought mine, after 3 or 4 replacements, opted for Gorilla Glass. I won't say its perfect, but the Arizona rocks have respect for it, tiny nicks, no cracks. I'm pretty sure my insurance is happy to have spent the extra for the upgrade, its been a couple of years.

Jinxed myself, caught a rock on the bottom edge under the wiper blade today. Good part is the glass will be waiting when I get home.

That is why I (with the help of my girlfriend) installed the ExoShield. I want to minimize windshield changeouts.

I have had GPW on my windshield for 8 months and have had everything from rocks to big branches hit it and other than slight abrasions you can hardly see, still looks like new!

It hit at the edge, not sure anything would help that. Just dumb luck it hit that low.

Right. ExoShield leaves about 1/16” of glass exposed all around.
I’ve been real lucky with my JKU as a chip repair kit from RainX has fixed most chips I’ve received. Not perfect but kept them from spreading cracks. Only two windshields in 8 years.
