Coming from an FJ62, I thought my steering was "not bad" with the Falken M/Ts. I am used to loose steering. Now at 15K miles, for the first time, I finally took my JT Rubicon to the dealer for the Clutch recall. I asked them to check the Steering per the TSB, and they agreed it was too much play, and they ordered the steering parts for me. I have to bring it back for installation. Regarding aftermarket parts, I just have Skids and Diff covers under there. I plan to get 37 inch tires and a lift, so, I am glad to have the new steering box.
Note: they also changed the oil for free (5th oil change) and rotated the tires. The dealer put in the correct amount of oil.
Overall, a very nice visit to the dealer.
The JT is somewhere between my '95 F150 and my TJ in steering feel. It's not bad exactly, but not as good as I'm used to in my R&P hot hatches which have no play at all. I'm going to have it looked and hopefully improved even if it's livable now. I printed off the TSB and put it in my glove box if anyone wants to give me shit about it at the dealer.

I finally got the recall check to load my VIN (on my phone, won't load on my computer) and saw that the clutch has been done in mine already. Build date of August last year and I bought it in June so it sat for a good while but that part was done before I bought it.

Lucky! Dealer keeps denying me because I have an aftermarket suspension (Mopar kit) and my Synergy steering brace.

Mine is at the dealer now for an oil change and I brought up the TSB. Crossing my fingers they don't blame it on the lift and 37s. I did take it in for this issue during my last oil change which was well before my lift and I'll fall back on that argument if I have to.

Just picked mine up from the dealer. I got approved and ordered the parts. They are on back order with no ETA.
Great!
I was waiting to put the Mopar lift on until I got the steering fixed.

are those the correct bolts they used? I saw another post yesterday where someone posted some really really long ones like that, and others said they werent the correct ones. Not sure it matters if its holding correctly and the torque stays put, just seems odd to have such long bolts compared to before.,

Also, is that before it was finished? I see you are missing a nut on one of the bolts on the left side??
The correct part number bolts stick through with about 3 threads showing (and the unthreaded end, of course).
I wonder if substitutions are being made?
The housing is threaded so any extra bolt that gets crud, RUST, etc, will be a real female dog to get out again later.
No nuts, just the bolts into the threaded cast housing.

I don't get why TSB's are denied. Don't they get paid to do them?

They are paid at a pre-determined rate, which is not always enough to cover the actual amount of time required. They would rather do other work with a higher margin. I'm sure there are also other reasons and attitudes involved.

Odd, I just picked up mine tonight, and they gave me a date of Oct 12, and it’s even printed on the service report...

Hopefully mine will be that soon as well. They are definitely not the most organized shop.

Brand new to forum but long time Jeeper. Just got Rubicon JT ~100 miles on it. 2" Mopar+37s get installed this week. Reason they are doing it is because was told/saw extended mechanical warranty in writing that MOPAR lift and 37"< tires will not void warranty. And I'm getting old and installing lifts can be fun - but not in 110 Arizona degrees. And yeah, the written warranty part gets kind of important when you plan to keep a great vehicle for years.

So...is there a range of VIN#'s this steering TSB covers? Or is it all jeeps. Maybe I missed the link. And maybe they've more work to do this weekend!
