Can it be turned off. I believe it turns on automatically around 30 degrees.

It turns on automatically whenever the vehicle is started when the temperature is below a certain point. There should be a setting option in the head unit to disable the automatic function.

They only turn on automatically with remote start, don’t they?
Either way, it’s controlled with settings in uConnect.

I know they come on with remote start. I think they come on with regular start. I've only had it happen a couple times when traveling, it's usually not that cold when I'm driving it. I looked at the settings once, but don't remember the options.

- The Owners Manual says the option to come on automatically is only with a remote start.

Pretty sure you can go into your Uconnect settings and turn that off. They kick on during a regular or remote start. Found out recently on mine since the temp has dropped cold enough.

It only turns on automatically with remote start. Regularly starting the vehicle will not auto enable the feature- I know this because when my garage is 20 degrees I always have to push buttons to manually turn it on.

I don’t think this is true for all vehicles. I have a ‘20 JTR and mine will come on with a regular start. I’ve never used the remote start feature. I’ve also found that the passenger seat heater will come on or stay off depending on whether there is a passenger.

Weird, mine has never done that. I wish it would because I get tired having to always turn it on manually.

Could be a trim level feature, I’ve got a Sport S Max Tow. Maybe those with the higher trims get additional features.

I believe it's controlled by the auto climate control. If you have the auto function turned on, then the seats and steering wheel will activate with either start (remote or button press) as long as temp is low enough. If you don't have auto climate on, then it may only come on with a remote start. It's cold enough out... maybe I'll test the theory.
