I noticed a several of weeks ago the clock on the display was way off. I checked the settings and sync with GPS was checked off. After reading some online resources it said this should clear up on it's own. I gave it a couple of weeks of daily driving to no avail so I lost patience and set it manually. Then I realized the navigation was also approximately 85 miles off. Meaning when I was in south Jersey it showed me being in north Jersey. I'm not sure how long this malfunction was going on as I use my phone / android auto as my primary GPS with Waze. I do know I didn't receive the truck that way. Anyhow, I brought the truck to the dealership today and they were unable to update it to fix it and ordered me a replacement radio. The service tech told me this isn't an uncommon problem and it can happen again. I asked the service tech. how much this would of cost if it wasn't under warranty and he replied {off the top of his head} $1500 to $2000. This issue also isn't specific to Jeep Gladiator's. Apparently, it is an issue with the whole Mopar 8.4 Uconnect fleet.
I was curious if anyone else experienced this issue?

I paid 100 for the map update and it is not right since then. Only the Nav, it will not stay on this one interstate that I travel on for several hours to visit family. Not a big deal but it also put me on a dirt narrow creepy road last month. I use google maps now and that is fine. If this ever breaks, I'll get the stinger one for about the same price.

I use Google maps. I used the built-in Nav system a lot when I first got it. The Uconnect update that came with the map update seems to have the head unit running better than before. I have not tried the built-in nav since the map update was loaded.

Not quite the same issue, but during my recent service, they couldn’t “read“ my computer for some reason when I brought it in. They managed to do an update on it that fixed the navigation, uconnect and wifi issues I’ve been having.

I've had the same problem for a few months now. Mopar Nav has me about 50 miles SE of my current location at all times. I use Waze via CarPlay normally, so it hasn't been an issue for me yet. I'll add it to the list of items for the last warranty trip to the dealer.

I had the same issue, but it was a ways back in a 2018 Chrysler 300. The fix was indeed a new radio.

I have a 2020 Gladiator Rubicon. Just replaced both the main battery and the Aux. The Navigation, clock, and GPS in general are all jacked up. Basically it showing driving south but were actually headed north. On startup it has me in Stratton PA but Im in South Carolina. Not good. I'm using Car Play and have a plug in Garmin as a back up. The dealer told me It would be $180 to update the software but no guarantee it would fix the problem. Note: Ive never paid to up-date the maps as I just didn't feel like getting fleeced every year for $100 bucks. This might be part of the problem. Interestingly, Apple CarPlay works fine so to me its a software issue.

One reason I don't use the Uconnect mapping/GPS or any native car system's is the aggravation of updates, and the need to learn multiple systems. Jeep, Mini Cooper, RV, et al have different systems. Apple Maps via iPhone or Car Play provides consistency and free updates. Or, a portable Garmin works fine too and has specific routing for RVs and Trucks.
