Just the foundation needed for a go anywhere EarthRoamer Jr.! Even with the 3.6, 8 speed, bought with the HD Tow package for the 4:10 rear locker. The rest as a chassis cab? Then just buy a small light enough camper, like an A frame type popup. That’s fold up hard sided with no vinyl/cloth exterior areas. You could still tow a boat, or utility trailer with 2-4 wheel toys! A capable camper that could get 20 mpg?

We've already seen stock trucks with a fold in the frame between the bed and cab from too much tongue weight. What is this company doing to address that, and what kind of coils are they using to triple the payload capacity??
They are reinforcing the frame. I've seen other aftermarket companies offer a solution to stiffen and reinforce the frame in those weak areas.

I'm late seeing and posting on this topic.... THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN BLATHERING ABOUT FOR 5 YEARS! Jeep is missing a huge opportunity in not offering a stripped down (but still US road legal) factory drop side bed model of the Gladiator. What was once a market (drop side beds) limited to mostly commercial buyers in the US, but common in commercial and everyday purchasers around the globe (especially in Asia and Africa), IS gaining huge interest. If Jeep wants to fight the tiny truck and small truck invasion about to hit US shores (Kei trucks and Toyota Landcruiser trucks with drop side beds), it should seriously consider what Accela Trucks is doing - partner or build and put on dealer lots. And there are a lot of people that own side by sides for their properties that would ditch them for a factory flatbed Gladiator in a heartbeat, me included. Thanks for listening to me blather again.

A few years ago, I saw this Ford Ranger at the dealership. Ford shipped a chassis cab, and the dealer put a flatbed on it. In my area, these types of trucks sell quick.

Ford produces the Ranger Superduty for the Australian market similar to this in three cab configurations but with a much more robust chassis and driveline. It would make an ideal overland rig here in the states.

Ok good. Extra plate welded onto the chassis in those weak areas would help a lot. But then of course they've got to e-coat it somehow to restore the corrosion resistance it had when it left the factory. I wonder if they do that also?

I read in another article that it’s only available for commercial customers. At least initially.

I filled out an information form requesting if they could work with my Mojave or if I needed to order a truck from them. I also asked about cost if you provide the truck and timelines. So far, crickets! If I hear something, I will post!

They are probably overwhelmed and might not respond. They’re only outfitting commercial clients at this time.

Don’t they understand the need to relive my childhood? They need to bump me past CalTrans and put my needs over everything else. And I am not even a millennial! On a serious note, it would be fun to recreate this blast from my past!
