I suppose you're right. I figure since govt agencies have to cycle through their inventory and unload it I could at least dream
I can see a few government agencies buying them, assuming they have an approved contract with Jeep. My John Deere dealer told me that state and federal entities wait until the end of the year to spend leftover money, so that's when they order a lot of equipment including the Gator utility vehicles.

In the video, the owner mentioned that they are competing against the UTV market. He said the highest payload UTV available in North America has a payload of 1,500 and costs $52,000. I knew right away that he was talking about the John Deere XUV 875M Diesel Utility Vehicle which has a payload of 1,500 lbs. on their dump bed and a 4,000 lb. towing capacity.

For most of us, a fully loaded 875R Signature Edition can be bought for $43,000. A lot of the extra cost is agricultural specific. For example, they have a field mapping technology called AutoTrac. That alone can be something like a $3,500 - $4,000 option.

Jeep Gladiator Uhhh...Acela Trucks just launched a 2-door Jeep Comanche on a Gladiator!! rxLRpLq

I knew farm implements were pricey but never thought of the gator as... a farm implement. That makes more sense

Yeah, the John Deere Gator is designed for work. I've watched some YouTube channels that feature various UTVs for work. The sport models (Polaris, Can-Am, Kawasaki, Yamaha, etc.) simply don't hold up near as well.

The 875R is John Deere's high-end XUV. It really is like a mini truck. It comes with a diesel engine, leather seats, leather wrapped grab handles, insulated/noise reduction HVAC cab, rear sliding window, rear camera, touchscreen infotainment system, Harman 7-speaker system, automotive grade windshield wiper and washer, LED headlights, LED roof mounted driving lights, 4WD with locking differential, Warn winch, front and rear grille/bumper guards, etc.

The Acela Truck Company owner was trying to make the point that you can get a very capable Jeep Gladiator at a similar price point than some of the high-end UTVs. The reality is that the UTV is still a better option for someone who wants a smaller utility vehicle that weighs significantly less than the Jeep Gladiator.

FUCK JD, they are anti-consumer, anti-farmer, anti-right-to-repair. The fact farmers in CO had to file a class action lawsuit against them for refusing to let farmers work on (not just repair) their own equipment is disgusting. They honestly expected the only people who keep them in business to support such a tyrant mindset? I hope they fail like HD is and has been.

Bring back R2R, bring back the Kai trucks (they're coming), the general market cannot afford $80k+ EVs, the infrastructure doesn't support the EVs they're pushing, stop the "you will own NOTHING and LOVE IT!" bs before we revolt!

They're even trying to force this bs mindset on our military, yeah, go ahead and see how long the people will be content with allowing MORE soldiers to die because they were REQUIRED to "wait for a certified company technician to be sent to the field" instead of "get out of my way, I'm about to fix this shit and get us tf outta doge city!".

Yeah, I said what needs to be said. Don't like it, cry about it, apparently that's what the internet is for these days 😂

Nothing to add other than:

You couldn't give me another two door two seat anything.

I love my John Deere 1025R so far (since some how JD was dragged into this... 😂 )

What? I thought you loved regular cab pickups. 🤔
I actually own one but its practically rotting in my driveway as I just can't find a good use for it. Well I also just don't need the third vehicle so I struggle to fool with it / get it back on the road.

I love them, just not a practical part of my life at the moment so 'cant give me one'.

Actually, let me pivot some.

A fullsize single cab I could use *some* cause I could fit a couple of the step kids in it. A Gladiator with only one other passenger not so much.

I also like all of the cab space for 'clean storage' separated from 'dirty' storage in the bed.
