I have the Mopar 2" lift with Fox shocks, Hellwig sway bar, and Wildpeak 35's on my JTRD. I'm outfitting it for overlanding, but it is also my daily driver. Have a Contour Canopy, iKamper RTT, winch, water tank, house battery, fridge, slide, plus camping gear, clothes, tools, people, dog, etc. I have not weighed it fully loaded yet, but based on previous CAT weighs, I know it'll be right at GVWR. Even unloaded, the front bottoms out occasionally. I would like to upgrade the springs to handle the weight and better shocks, but do not want to add much more (if any) additional lift that would require more stuff to offset the change in geometry. I have read a ton of posts about suspension setups, but most are not geared towards the overlander. I don't want to just start slapping on new parts without having a full game plan, one that takes everything into the equation, including geometry and safety.
Should I go with a complete kit like these or can just swap springs and shocks?
AEV Dualsport XP with HD coils
Clayton 2.5" Diesel Performance Package
What other kits should I consider?
Suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
