and the security bypass

JSCAN is software that runs on your phone. You connect to the Jeep through a Bluetooth OBD adapter.your replies are the best LOL. I like cheaper. So the jscan is just a bluetooth OBD devise that connects to my phone app?
Remove it.I am curious now. Can this bypass cable be removed once changes have been made or does it need to remain n place indefinitely?
FFS, I was threatened to be sued and blasted on a YouTube channel with a lot followers (well the company o work for) hahahahaa oh the life of tech support !Remove it.
Once the change is made, it's made. No traces are left.
Brain scramble:
-Wife buys Jeep 4xe. I decide it's better and faster to use a Level 2 charger. Oops, garage panel full and at 1980 standards. Upgrade panel, install charger - now every 8 minutes things freak out on the Jeep and charger if the Jeep is fully charger. So, do research.
-Phone swells, back splits off, so do research on phones.
-HVAC Company comes for annual HVAC/heat pump service and check and preventative maintenance. Finds pretty low on refrigerant, mice have chewed up wiring, this needs fixing or service, that needs fixing or service - weigh options of spending money on 15 year old heat pump, or going new. Do research, get bids.
-Working on "adaptive equipment ideas for wife's Wrangler windows. Do research, find parts.
I was better off not retiring.
No.Would someone be able to add off-road pages with this?
If I was in Maryland I'd help you but I'm not. It's not hard to do though And it's under the dash not behind the steering wheelIs there anyone from Maryland that would be willing to assist in changing my tire size? That's all I need done but am not knowledgable enough to be messing around with any of these things (Tazer / JSCAN, etc.) nor do I want to take on accessing under my steering wheel. I am an embarrassment to Jeep owners .....
You could always let the dealer do it if not comfortable doing it on your own. It costs a little more but you dont have to worry about buying more parts and doing it yourself. I use the Jscan but my hand hates me for it. lolIs there anyone from Maryland that would be willing to assist in changing my tire size? I went through this last year when I moved up to 35s. Dealer said they would make the change no charge since I had them put them on for me. Turns out, at some point Jeep changed their stance on this and now charge ~$150 to unlock your VIN so they can make the change. At that point I'd rather just buy the JScan license and cables myself, so that's what I did. Honestly, it's really easy to do yourself. Plugging in the security bypass cable is the hardest part - the in app prompts to adjust the tire size within JScan are easy to follow. Just need to know the right measurement to use for whatever tire you moved to, which you can get the spec from Tire Rack any other tire website. With a little research, you'd probably use a better setting than the dealer would.I called my closest Jeep dealer and they said the do not offer this service. Lame.
just get a Tazer. It is double the money, but, worth every penny -- and you can do so much customization with it, that you will never regret it. In my opinion, it is one of the best upgrades for the money available.I bought 315/70r17's and mounted/balanced them myself. I bought the bypass cable and Jscan and recalibrated the Jeep to my new tire size. I dropped my Jeep off this morning to have the wheels road force balanced and they just called to tell me it was all set. They want to charge me $145 to "recalibrate the jeep to the new tire size so the brakes and steering operate correctly". I informed them that I already took care of the tire size change on my own and they told me that yes the speedo would be correct but i might have issues with my steering and brakes.
At the end of the day, I am either paying the 60 bucks they want for the balancing (bargain if you ask me), or 230 dollars which includes the recalibration/tax/fees.
What are they talking about?
