Used this for the 1st time today , i had to pump all 4 of my 35’s from 18lbs to 36lbs. I knew it would get warm but it was super hot , couldn’t touch it . Do they not ally get this hot. Also I may get the ARB twin so I can just mount under hood and have airline plug in under hood. Do the ARB’s get this hit too. Thanks

ARB's will get hot too, those little pistons are going a million miles a second. A permeant fixed and mounted solution should result in less burns though.

All compressors will get hot. Little ones will be the worse like said above mount it so you don't have to touch it when done.

I have the dual ARB but also an old Viar 400. The Viar is still working like a champ. Lend it to friends often. It does get really hot as everyone said.

No comparison with the ARB on speed, but also no comparison on price..
The Viar is solid and priced well. If you want to go faster you just have have to spend more - a universal truth :)

I had the viair 450p. Was slow, but full duty and only ever got warm.

Running an arb twin now. Under the hood so never touch it.

I have the 300P works well but, to confirm everyone's comments, it does get really hot and you have to let it cool before storing it.

I have a 300P mounted under the passenger seat. Yes, it’s a little slow, yes it gets very hot. I blow max AC at the feet vents, helps a little (and I put a toe guard around it for a little safety). I wouldn’t advise others to get a 300P for 37s (I already had it from my previous truck with 32s) but it shows no signs of struggling with it

Put a wet towel over it. Any small compressor being asked to cycle for that long is going to get hot.

I was just on a Jeep group run last weekend. One guy had an ARB mounted in the engine bay on the driver side firewall. It gets so hot it works 50% of the time. I was going to do the same then decided against it after talking to him. I live in Las Vegas, so its HOT out here, like 112 lately.
