I agree with most of the post above with two exceptions: expect a 50th anniversary edition of some sort and one or two new colors.

Obviously, I don't know anything about a potential coming Anniversary Edition, but based on what I've seen from other Anniversary Edition vehicles, I wouldn't get my hopes up. We can expect a badge and maybe a different color; perhaps some stickers. Oh, and a higher sticker price and dealers expecting premium prices. Such things are mostly marketing with little substance. I do know people who try sell their Anniversary Edition vehicles typically expect to get premium prices, but don't. Buyers simply react with a, "Meh...".

But hey, if an Anniversary Edition has a color you want which was previously unavailable, cool!

I'd like to see some option/configuration changes on the existing truck.

I think a Overland with MAX TOW should be done. Really do NOT understand why it wasn't in the mix from the beginning and feel like the Overlands aren't moving as quick as the Sport S and Rubicons though they have a nice setup and all the same basics.

I think there are a lot of people who want the extra luxuries of the Overland with some of the more rugged functionality of the Rubicon but not all of it...mostly the axles. I'm not a rock crawler but I do tow an RV and boat and will spend a lot of hours towing and eventually Overlanding but I probably won't be crossing the Rubicon anytime soon and the basic 4WD capability of a Jeep is already far and above most trucks so I'd have still have a super capable Jeep truck that is very comfortable for long hours driving and with the upgraded axles a platform that is easily further built with lockers, etc. and really meets the expectations of the model name (Overland).

My personal sweet spot would have been an Overland with Max Tow and maybe optional lockers. I would have closed on that in a hot second...but as it is spent a lot of time debating my true need for Rubicon capabilities and tolerance of price premium...and ended up in a Sport S Max Tow (on order).

It's to the point now where the only thing the Overland has that the Sport doesn't is leather and painted fenders. I think they should just get rid of the Overland trim altogether. It's pointless.

They would never drop the overland and go down to just two models and let consumers pick a higher optioned Sport to get what a Overland has now. It is ingrained consumer marketing psychology to have a "Good, Better and Best" selection of a given item.

And proximity sensor and sport s can get painted fenders now (non max tow)

Agree with option flexibility. I was looking at a base Sport and certain options were disallowed for no apparent reason except trying to force an upgrade to Sport S or Rubicon.

The hysteria about auto start/stop is laughable. It works great. Unless you're trying to drag race somebody (and you've chosen the wrong vehicle for that BTW), auto start/stop doesn't delay your launch even a little bit. If it saves me a little on fuel, I'll take it. The starter is ten times more capable than what we had a few years ago, and it's all under warranty, so what's the big deal.

Personally, I'll take the least amount of gadgetry possible, since it all eventually breaks.

Wouldnt be surprised to see a proper embossed tailgate, the Jeep letters stuck on feel like such an afterthought.

You can bypass the ESS. I bought a SmartStop module that plugs in underneath the dash. It remembers the last position you left the switch in when you shut off the engine and sets it up that way when you next start the vehicle. I plugged in the module and turned off my ESS and it's stayed that way ever since - except for testing to see if it works. It';s $129 with free shipping at https://www.smartstopstart.com/jeep-dodge-chrysler-products.html . I actually heard about it here on this forum.

The dealer can turn off the ESS. Mine was smart enough to disable from the get-go on mine... I live in a rather blue-collar, no b.s. part of the country where selling trucks with that nonsense is a non-starter (pun intended). So they just disable them. I do get a little "bing" warning on the dash every time I start, but that's it.
