For onlookers.....the full time transfer case in a Rubicon is still called RockTrac. The only way to tell difference is the build sheet and the shifter. Can't go by the name alone.I selected the Rubicon for 1 main reason the Dana 44 up front. The rest was as on the lot and it came pretty loaded leather steering wheel with heat , 110 plug inside Alpine stereo 8.4 screen tons of media plug ins.....
I didnt even know about select track or may have hunted for one of those so this one just had rock trac and lockers . I purposely chose the automatic as my left hip isnt the greatest anymore I LOVE a standard but figured it was time to try an auto and love the downhill controlled decent ,which I never had on another vehicle.
Also for onlookers, ALL gladiators have a front Dana 44.For onlookers.....the full time transfer case in a Rubicon is still called RockTrac. The only way to tell difference is the build sheet and the shifter. Can't go by the name alone.
Yes, I forgot to add that part.. was thinking wait, that's what all of mine hadAlso for onlookers, ALL gladiators have a front Dana 44.
Early on there was confusion as people assumed they'd follow the JL with non-rubicon models getting the m186/Dana30. Now even in the JL the willys trim gets the D44.Yes, I forgot to add that part.. was thinking wait, that's what all of mine had
They didn't read press releases, build sheets and so on, I guess.Early on there was confusion as people assumed they'd follow the JL with non-rubicon models getting the m186/Dana30. Now even in the JL the willys trim gets the D44.
Okay boy oh boy y'all are being so Dang technical. I should have said Wide track Dana 44 . Axle which is wider. And yes Rock trac is in or out . 🫠Also for onlookers, ALL gladiators have a front Dana 44.
Even still your post is misleading. Max tow, mojave, and Rubicon all get the wider axles (not sure about willys, but 2024+ JL willys get the wide track 44 too). Not trying to be technical, just providing info for those looking to purchase.Okay boy oh boy y'all are being so Dang technical. I should have said Wide track Dana 44 . Axle which is wider. Well and to lay more back ground to my post in the lot they had 5 sport models and 1 Rubicon and I read the build sheets and none had the wide axle which the Rubicon did and it was the deciding factor even though my wife was hung up on a razzleberry sport this one is Granite metallic gray . (Which isnt the fanciest color ) but I was only concerned with the drivetrain. I didn't even know it had heated seats etc. Until a couple days laterEven still your post is misleading. This was in 2020Those must have been pretty basic plain Sports without max tow. The wider axles are a lot more common under the JT these days - most "editions" have them.
(change your wheels and tires and have a similar effect to the wider axles - it's only 0.75" per side.)
A lot has changed since then! Wow.This was in 2020
Thanks , that was funnyMine was 52K out the door after the discounts and negotiating in 2021 when i got it. no way i could afford a new one today. I barely can afford this one. I will have it for a very long time. Once i have no more payments i will be able to put gas in it.
That one made me forget about the heat working on my lawn tractor......Once i have no more payments i will be able to put gas in it.
