He said the body shop was able to access through a panel under the rear seat. I think they may have to cut open a panel and go in from the top. What was the fix as my driver side rear it’s broke free? Did the dealer have to make a hole in the tub to fix or was there another way?
Best thing to do is not touch it when it's still under warranty. Now you have opened a Pandora box of worms. Jeep can claim you broke it firstI tried to remove the body mount bolts yesterday. They are all installed crazy tight, much tighter than on my JK. The middle ones on both sides broke the nut loose from the welds. These are clearly bad welds. I talked to a builder who said he had this happen on an LE, and mine is an LE. He said there were some early weld issues. This happened while REMOVING the bolt so clearly it can't be my fault. But I wonder how Jeep is going to handle it. I'm going to try calling shortly and start a case. Meanwhile I'm posting to hear from others who have had weld issues, and for ideas. One idea from that builder is to cut a "D" shape in the pocket, fold it open, replace the nut, and weld it back. I can handle that, except maybe welding the nut in, as my MIG torch seems like it would be too big. It's also ludicrous that I'd need to cut open a brand new $60k vehicle.
Hi, jmill012. I see your private message and will continue to work with you there. Thanks, my dealer just called and said if I didn't use the exact tool and method mentioned it the service manual, jeep won't warranty the repair!! @JeepCares he said he will contact Jeep anyway and see what they say. Can you help as this seems like a crazy answer given "my" method of using a hand socket wrench worked for 5 of the 6. Also, given Jeep warrantied the fix for other members...
I had this happen to me on a 2022 JTRD. The rear drivers side mount came unwelded. The bolt is out but wont tighten back in.. Did you ever get anywhere with this ? Yes. Find a dealer with a service advisor that knows about the weak welds and is willing to write it up as a warranty job. My guy in Arizona did mine.I had this happen to me on a 2022 JTRD.
