One helluva BANG!
This was a replacement HGP Gorilla Glass windshield.
It was replaced by windshield number 5: a normal glass one for half the price.

Dammit...

Kevin, was it self inflicted by your front tires throwing it out ahead, or you were behing someone on that gravel road? I'm on #1 yet but have a chip that was small but there is a small star there now so matter of time I guess....Jack

Dang, I'm still on the original (non-Gorilla) windshield. Two years and two months old.

It has a chip on the passenger side from the first week that I filled with one of those Permatex repair kits. No issues since. The driver side has a chip/crack a couple inches from the top that never did spread and I never did fix. Living on borrowed time

I had the 5th one replaced on mine a couple months ago. Had to go back and get it replaced about 2 weeks ago. Two days later .... a flying rock decided the new windshield needed to be decorated for Halloween and engrave the outline of a spider. Waiting on it to "grow" longer legs before I get #6.

I'm still on number 2, I decided after #2 got a chip the same day I got it installed that I'd wait for a fix it ticket, or until something actually obstructed my vision.

A pickup headed the other way flipped up a rock. On pavement.
The one before this (the first Gorilla Glass) was smacked by a large stone from between a set of duals on a dump truck as I was overtaking.

No windshield…..yet…but this happened last August. First mirror ever unalived by a rock. OTR truck pulling two 40 side dumps kicked it up. Missed the ball adjuster mirror thing by millimeters

Hey, where are you going for your replacements? Safelite or Dealer? I'm due for my first replacement after a long road trip.

I just cracked my original windshield on a 2022 JT Sport (Solar glass). I went to Safelight and requested OEM Mopar parts. So, yes.

Going Mopar too, but have to wait for the right part. Turns out there are over a dozen variations for the Gladiator . . . They showed up with the wrong one and will wait a couple weeks for the right one. No problem since it's drivable.

The worst thing Jeep ever did was these flat windshields, Mine is cracked and growing, but I am waiting....... We need bullet proof glass!

I thought to myself that you must tailgate or just drive in bad places. That was until I drove to Texas last month. I heard no less that 6 rocks hit my windshield. All but one were in Texas. All were right after a storm passed. I got lucky and found evidence of only one rock. Any one have any luck having a chip filled? I though I'd give it a try.
