Added WeatherTech mud flaps to the REAR.

The mud flaps are well made, fit perfectly and mount solidly. But they are a minor pain in the ass to install; you need tiny rubber fingers to get them behind the fenders and secure those nuts.

If I was not spending too much money on other stuff (drugs, insurance, having a whole new stairway put in my garage because I can't deal with the one I made 20 years ago) and other stuff - I'd have one like you picked up in a heartbeat. The beauty I saw in Ankeny had me all dreamy over such a Jeep. Man, I loved that thing. IT would become my daily driver.
Yeah and that's exactly why I followed through. Finances right now offer the ability to buy it. Based on seeing what my parents are going through in their retirement, I doubt any vehicle will be in my price range, especially with current market trajectory. SO I wanted to grab it now before it is too late. It's the right timing too to start stockpiling parts before they become unobtanium. Lots of things are still available from a variety of OEM-like stock replacement parts.

The question now is do I sell the TJ, or fix it up a little and let my dad use it for as long as he wants.

Installed a Wavian Jerry Can and holder from Front Runner in the bed of the Gladiator.

Mounted it with M8 rivnuts, but if I had to do it again, I would drill smaller holes and then cut threads into it using a tread cutting bolt. That way if you want to remove it later, you would have just four small holes that could easily be filled with black silicone or RTV gasket.

Recommended alternative steps:

1) Place jerry can holder on truck bed so that the mounting holes are sitting over the raised ribs.
2) Mark and center punch the hole locations.
4) Drill holes using 0.28” diameter bit.
5) Using a socket wrench, screw in the thread cutting bolt half way and then back it out.
6) Mount Jerry Can Holder to bed using lock washers and button head bolts.

All the below items can be found online at Amazon if not available at your local hardware store.

(Qty) Description
(1) #70 or K Drill Bit Solid Carbide (.028")
(1) Steel Thread Cutting Screw, Hex Washer Head, Type F, 5/16"-18 Thread Size
(4) 5/16-18 x 1/2" Bolts Black Oxide Fully Threaded (button head bolt)
(4) 5/16" Stainless Steel Internal Tooth Star Lock Washers
Is that a smart cap you are running? If so how long have you had it and what has been you experience with fit, finish, dust, leaks... how has it held up?

That's one reason I bought my Gladi now. By the time I'm ready to retire it will be paid off and as long as I take care of it I'll have it to enjoy when I have time for that.

Finally got around to installing the ASFIR Aluminum Skids for the motor/transmission and also the transfer case. Overall, good impressions. Especially since I had Jr. do it for me. LOL. I did learn a couple new expletives over the course of the install, and got a lecture about engineering. :). But overall, the install seemed pretty straightforward to me. Looking forward to scratching them up. Oh...my only negative take-away is that it's probably going to make oil changes exponentially harder. We'll see on that.....

My first oil change after I installed mine was messier than preferred... installed a fumoto valve https://www.fumotousa.com/cars-pickups-jeep-2021-gladiator-3-6l-v6

Only thing that I wish is that I had installed it before the skids

How hard was it to get it in after the skids? Which one did you end up with? Did you have to remove the skids? Sorry for all the questions. Yes - wish I had thought of it first. Maybe I'll make Jr pull them off and install the fumoto. LOL

Yes. Bought my Jeep used in February 2023 and already had the Smartcap on it. I’ve not had any water leak or dust issues. I regularly pressure wash and no leaks. Don’t know if the previous owner installed it himself or if he had it professionally installed, but I guess they did a good job. I’m thinking I will retorque everywhere before heading out to Moab in May, just to be sure everything stays tight.

Thanks - I have a Mojave with the factory Mopar rails which I think RokBlokz refers to as Rubicon rails. I will have to search for a Mojave owner that has installed them since I think the fender flares are different. I do like the quick detach ability. I also want to make sure they would function as expected with my ) offset wheels fitted with BFG 35 that are 12.5.
I have 35x12.5 RG’s. Not sure of the exact offset of my Fuel wheels. It was a setup the dealer already had done and I loved the stance.
The RB XL width with original length covers pretty well. I can already tell a reduction in how much road grit is on the sides and door handles.

It wasn't too bad to put it on with the skids in place. I would just plan on putting it in during your next oil change. I opted for F106N. It looked like it would be both well protected and the easiest to use with where the access hole in the skid is located.

I can't remember if I bought the tubing that connects to it from fumoto or from the hardware store, but that is the last piece that you will need.

Oil changes are a breeze now.

That they are. It’s been a long time, but I installed mine during the oil change right before I put the skids on to avoid getting oil on the skids, but a well placed funnel will let you do it with the skids there, just that one time.

I have a piece of Tygon tubing (1/2" OD I think) with a hose clamp set to make the tube a snug fit (bought it at Ace Hardware). I used this setup on my JK and WK2. Just changed the oil in my Gladiator last week and found a spare Fumoto valve in the tool box so it went on. I like the fact that the hose for the Fumoto is not proprietary so if you lose it, you can duplicate it on the cheap.
