Made and installed a plate in my bed to mount things to. Installed a prototype battery box with my BCDC setup and now working. Waiting on my fridge slide. 100AH of power in the bed now :D

Added a OEM passenger side tow hook last weekend. Took the bumper off and used the opening on the backside as a template for the cutout. Came out pretty good if I say so myself 😉

I was wondering if that’s a thing, the single hooks makes my OCD flare. Looks way better that way.

Installed an overpriced hoop and wired up some Harbor Freight special lights to go with my Harbor Freight special winch.

Does the hoop serve a purpose? No, not really.

I need to get myself a safety thimble.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I had read a bunch and watched a couple videos on the hassle of removing & replacing it with the Rubicon bezel. Sheesh...
I drilled 4 holes in the corners of the opening from the back side & connected the dots with a body panel saw. Smoothed things out with a file and done. I'm happy with the result.

Tested some oils with the tester we have at work before changing the engine oil and filter. Recalibrated it for each test with a clean sample of each oil.
Engine after 8500 miles Royal Purple 0W20:

Still technically "good" showed no signs of notable metal particles, Antifreeze, or water contamination.

Rear diff after 5000 miles and a rough day on the trails Royal Purple 85w140:
Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] PXL_20240904_224054534

No surprises there, no water or metal, though ARB does recommend changing the fluid after "heavy use" of the locker.
Front diff, same oil and use:

Mildly intriguing result here with a higher reading on the front diff. May have just happened to get a dirtier mix of suspended solids, or maybe some miniscule water contamination. I'll have to monitor it.

Obviously these testers aren't the same as sending it off to a lab for full analysis but if you use them routinely you can catch issues before they become severe. Just thought I'd share.

I'm thinking of adding a hook to my Willys, too. Any thoughts on flipping them over so they open to the outside?
