The purple was tempting............. but I have to reserve that color for my wife. She likes the green on the JT.

Ready for winter now, I still need to jack it up to take some of the load off and measure for those spring spacers. this does drop the front a lot when it's on. Those spacers come in so many sizes, not sure what I need.

The front camera sure makes it easy driving up to the plow - done it twice now and both times, it was perfectly lined up and I simple drove until it was in the brackets, got out and plugged the cables in, went back and put it in float mode, then went out and pushed up and back on the top of the light area and it snapped the pins right into place. Couldn't have been easier.

Temps dropped like a rock so my tire pressure dropped as well from about 35/36 down to 29.
So it was also time to put some winter air in the tires. (and if you don't, you can't turn the wheels when it's on rough concrete)

I'm still not supposed to lean and lift - so it took my wife and I both to lift the 3 70 pound bags of sand into the back for ballast.

Once I figure out how to measure the front spring coil gap, I'll order the spacers and be set - installing them might be a trick but will get it done.
We're expecting a fair snow Friday through Saturday night.
It's a Jeep, it's a truck, it's all sorts of things.

Can you use the plow to push down and partially lift the front end?

Or lift the front with your crane outdoors?

I was thinking about maybe lifting the bags up using your hardtop hoist to lift the bags

I know you have a snowplow and your worried about weight.
But...what do you mean by coil gap?

Can you measure shock eye to shock eye with the plow raised amd then with the plow on the ground to take as much weight of the front? The the difference is what the plow compresses the springs.
Easier would be to measure from the center of the fender to the ground, loaded and unload. Should be close enough.
Unless, I'm missing something.

A forum member or two suggested using these spring spacers when the plow was on - or in the winter when it's likely to be on - But you buy them based on the spacing between the coils are there are so many different sizes. I should have measured before I put the plow on, was thinking of ordering them then putting them in when the plow is next removed. But I guess I either raise the front up to the unladen height and measure, or just wait until it's off, measure, then order them.
With the Overland I put in different springs - want to keep the same springs under it but help it with the weight of the plow, and something I can remove come the end of February.

I hadn't, either! Whew, it's not just me.
I've seen the old school funky shaped metal spacers. Where you would stick them between the coils and hen twist 90° to lock in place.
But I've never seen those.

Are they designed to compress with the spring, just at a higher rate? Or do they lock out that portion of the spring?

These are not solid like some - you can get "solid rubber" that actually doesn't compress. These compress and supposedly add to the spring rate.
They call it a "buffer"

Bought a Harbor Freight Badlands Apex 12,000 lb winch with synthetic rope. Wanted the Warn Zeon 12S Platinum winch. But it was more than twice the money.

I've had my Badland almost 4 years, going strong, lots of use over the years. Huge value for what you get. Get a mount for the included cutoff switch.
