I can relate. And I suspect with a bit of thought I could have done it all in that plate and not the tailgate proper - meaning replace plate and all would be good. But - what I did with my others when trading them was put black screws in the rivnuts - almost hiding the mod if you didn't pay attention. This one may have to be my forever truck but there are already things I see on Barbara's 2026 I wish mine had. She should have never let me drive that thing - but then, she's still not driving much after the surgery and still can't raise her left arm or grip anything with it. I have to open bottles of water for her.I really like that thing. If I didn’t need to drill into the tailgate, I’d be in. Delicate sensibilities. Not logical. Just mental illness.![]()
