What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Main battery replacement today. Was dead dead dead early this morning, but there have been warning messages of "aux buttons not available while battery is charging" so I knew it was going to go eventually, about 3.5 years on this one, same as the factory battery.

Ordered online for delivery, waited until about 530pm for it to be delivered as there was only 1 available down here in the RGV from a store 35 miles away. Maybe 40-50 minute install and quick testing while I still had daylight and some cooler weather, only 102° today. Gave me some extra time today to really clean out around the battery tray and check all the electrical connections in the area, of which I found a loose ground nut on the inside fender connections, so that's a win I guess. Should be good for another 3.5 years.

Did you go OEM or OEM+ ?

Took the passenger rear door panel off and replaced the door check with the mopar quick release version. The GREAT news is that it solved the door click 100%! The only slightly annoying thing is that the new style bracket is in the way of the tube doors. Loosening the bolt and rotating it allowed them to work normally. Small price to pay for no clicking. I’ll do the other three doors tomorrow.

Every time I take my doors on and off lately, I keep thinking I need to get a set of those quick releases, but now I wonder if they would interfere with my tube doors, because if I still have to pull a tool out to rotate them when going to the tube doors, then it's no different than just pulling that bolt out fully with the same tool and would not truly be "toolless" for me, then those would dictate wasted money to me and would be much better spent on other mods... Now you gave me something else to keep me up at night for absolutely no reason at all... Damn ADHD... LOL JK

Every time I take my doors on and off lately, I keep thinking I need to get a set of those quick releases, but now I wonder if they would interfere with my tube doors, because if I still have to pull a tool out to rotate them when going to the tube doors, then it's no different than just pulling that bolt out fully with the same tool and would not truly be "toolless" for me then those would dictate wasted money to me and would be much better spent on other mods... Now you gave me something else to keep me up at night for absolutely no reason at all... Damn ADHD... LOL JK

What makes me not regret it, even though what you say about the tube doors seems to be true, depending on the tube design, is that they are much beefier. I think they also improved the design to prevent the clicking fail. They are much stronger it seems, but time will tell.

And I’m going to figure out a way to make them work, maybe I’ll try to clearance the type doors. The issue is that the door frame bracket faces the opposite way the old one does.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense, I still think it might be a worth while purchase because I do like the idea of them, plus they may not interfere with my tube doors either since each company has a slightly different style and fit, but since my truck is still newer, I think now it might wait until I hear the dreaded click and then spend the money and replace them to this style.

Well please keep us updated on your findings and if a slight modification helps, because I do love my tube doors when I can run them. I feel so boxed in when the doors go back on after a week or two of the tube doors being on. Haha

Did you go OEM or OEM+ ?

I went with an Everstart from Walmart. It's a Johnson Control brand, so the same ones as O'Reilly's or AutoZone saving a little bit of $$.

I reprogrammed my Tazer after taking it to dealer. My dealer is replacing the radio, a harness and the back up camera when the parts arrive sometime after I'm dead. While messing around I noticed this black box zip tied under my steering wheel. Surprised I haven't noticed it since I've been under my dash many times in last month. With a little research, it is a GPS tracker that the dealer who sold me the vehicle installed. Well it's uninstalled now, but I haven't done anything to the wires.
