Finished installing my @813 Fabrication & Design molle panels in the bed. Needed to "customize" the bedside ones to provide clearance for the lever for the tonneau cover.

Good job on the alteration! Very clean.

Well, today I got my authorization email from Jeep, Stellantis approved the repainting and corrosion removal in several areas of my paint, covered under warranty. My otherwise flawless paint job is about to get seriously flawed. I don't believe they can match the Hydro Blue Pearl paint job. Just don't see it happening... But better than rust holes, that's for sure.....

Oddly enough, she called me and said Stellantis wanted to know if my hood decals are OEM or aftermarket. Sarcastic me responds with, "Really ? REALLY ?? They asked that ?? Has Jeep EVER offered a MUDPIE II edition ? They are aftermarket, I put them on !!" She laughed and said she knew but they instructed her to call, they were done so well they were curious. I said I know how to lay a freaking decal. Idiots.

Now I have to unload everything in the Jeep, I'm leaving nothing in it other than fresh air. The estimate is "up to two weeks" for the job, they'll be giving me a loaner, in the mean time. Wonder what I'll get.

I'm praying they don't screw this up.

I dropped mine off in May on a Monday and picked it up on Friday.


They gave me a Nissan to drive and I hated it, but the paint came out great.

He told me that they’d already done a couple of 2026 models.

I was fortunate. While camping, the camper next to me came over and introduced himself. He casually walked around my Jeep and asked, "Did you ever have your corrosion warranty addressed ?" I did the "Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis ?". He laughed and said he works for Jeep and how I have 5 years from born-on date to get any corrosion fixed on Jeep's dime. He said most Jeepers have issues with the doors; when Jeep decided to go to aluminum doors instead of steel, they didn't change the welding methods. The welding for steel corrodes the aluminum doors. He asked if he could give my Jeep a once-over. I said sure, and he did. Pointed out all sorts of spots, some very visible, some not so much but "it's coming". I owe that man a beer.

When I was at my dealer I asked my service tech how come I wasn't notified of this issue, she said owners typically notify them. I get along with her, so I said, "Ah, we tell YOU, you don't tell US. Pretty sneaky, sis.". By the look on her face, I quickly realized my reference to an old 70's/80's TV commercial was lost on her; she was maybe 21 years old.

My paint match was perfect on my hydro blue. What the Jeep paint shop didn’t do correctly on mine was the application of the paint…Orange peel on everything they painted…to match the factory orange peel? i was angry when I looked it over with the manager. He tried to make some BS up about that’s how the paint applies…I explained that his techs don’t know how to follow paint applications process and that’s why it has orange peel on my brand new $14K paint job. Then after ten more minutes of his additional BS…I finally said, call me when your finished wet sanding and buffing my JT. i turned away and walked to my other ride and left with him standing there with his mouth hanging open. Two weeks later, manager called and said it was finished. They wet sanded and buffed the entire rig. Told me it has a life time non transferable warranty on the new paint job. It looks great. Now I’m very happy with it.

I was told by the Jeep guy in the campground they were swapping parts because of the manpower it takes to refinish the paint. Looks like that doesn't happen anymore.

Being in the automotive industry for over 20 years at this point, as long as the body shop does it correctly and blends adjacent panels as needed, you should never notice a difference in color. But, if they try to panel paint it and not blend anything, there is a good chance you'll notice a shade difference. That being said, we do a lot of warranty work for varying different dealerships around my area and never have any push back on blending and not panel painting, so when you go to pick it up, if it doesn't look as it did previously ( minus your aftermarket decals ) do not pick it up and make them do it correctly, because once it leaves their facility, it is a bigger fight to get them to cover it again after the fact.

The problem comes from the way the vehicles are painted on the assembly line and them not getting sufficient coverage of corrosion protection materials on areas like under the hinges and on the edges of panels. The only way they would fix that would completely change how all the Gladiators and Wranglers are built and painted and I'm sure that is a lot more costly than them paying to replace and paint some panels.

If I understood correctly they pulled the doors off and installed new hinges on doors and hood.

They also have Equipment to paint match so that it will match “perfectly“.

They did doors hood and tailgate & it looks fine to me, but I’m not a body guy.

After 6 weeks I dropped it off at Ziebart to retreat the diamond gloss and he didn’t point out any issue.

Ziebart has a ceramic coating that I’m thinking of having done where they go over everything with the clay bar and do some sort of paint match.

They have to keep it overnight to finish it up plus another $1,000. Hey it’s only Jeep money that’s better than other money

I have had collision body work and repaint done for less. If a bodyshop is charging that for corrosion fix and repaint, they are making a killing with those charges.
