Lol not if we don't count how long it took to find the extra trailer hitch stinger in my disaster of a garage... er state of the art fabrication facility... yeah thats it....
Yep. That is what took me the most time. I wanted this to be as free as posable. All scrap parts and 1/4 cans of old paint. Not even sure what the skid came from. All I know is it was John Deere Green and strong like bull.

Would you be so kind as to point out the thread for that?
Sorry- I couldn't point it out as I have been through these forums like a tornado over the last few weeks! Emblem is from the Ram EcoDiesel... there are plain black/red/silver ones like on mine, and there are ones like mine but with added chrome surround. I bought mine off eBay.

Where did you order the threaded eyebolts and do you have a part #. That is great idea over a diy trail rail system.
I bought 4 at a Marine Supply brick and mortar. If "marine" is in the name it's 5X more expensive. They worked great so I ordered 8 more on line.
Where do Ya Fish up here-I am tryin to find someone in Oregon to get my Fly Fishin up to speed. I live on Siltcoos Lake and have a MH on the Rogue River in Gold Beach.
I'm in WA right now, have fished the Rogue River, actually outside of the town of Rogue River. Nice county.

Stripped off the RTT...

And starting a RTT trailer.

I want some performance back! And an enclosed cargo bed. And for some summer roadtrips that are planned, a lot more gear was gonna be needed, and a trailer was inevitable.

This trailer will be built on the cheap. So far, including the trailer, rack and RTT and the planned big tires and a bunch of other things, only in $2500. And its permanent tabbed as its under a ton so one of those build it and not worry about it. I got tons of gear to reuse.

And the swap of the rack and such only took 45min by myself all buttoned up. So its a pretty easy thing to change around.

So, back to the Jeep, I need a Soft-Topper. Hopefully a sales comes through in the next month or two.
I went the same direction. I really wanted a bed rack, but didn't want the extra weight, so I converted a little 4x8 trailer into my "Overlanding" trailer. I love my Softtopper, too.

Bumper installed! Just waiting on the winch to arrive.

First impressions are good on this Rugged Ridge Venator. I do wish the lower “skid” did provide as much protection as the factory skid as they can’t be used together.
It covers the sway bar disconnect, but not by much.

It’s not the kinda armor for tackling the hard stuff, but at a pretty reasonable 80ish lb weight, and the real heavy metal around the winch and hooks, it seems plenty sturdy.

I’m 200 lbs, and was lifting myself off the ground by pressing down on the wings. It has minimal flex and no distortion so I’m pleased with it’s general sturdyness.

Install was fairly smooth. But the nutserts for the factory skid plate remained and required some “coaxing” with a hammer to get it all in. Otherwise it was really smooth to do it all. Instead of being 150+ lbs of a single piece, the trade off here is that it is a bit of a jigsaw. Not particularly difficult, but paying attention will give good results.

The finish is really nice, but has flaked on a few of the non visible areas.

All in all, it’s a neat bumper. Almost makes me wish they had a “signature series” of it that took those extra few minutes and steps in the making to get it OEM fit and finish. To their credit, this is pretty impressive a design to flat pack a winch bumper that is both capable and looks like a factory concept piece all for half the mopar one?

Also, anyone in WA need some take off bits? I’ll put a classified together later once I clean it up.

I sure do love this bumper and it’s ability to sink the winch below the grill. Doesn’t appear to change the approach angle much if any.

Yup, mine was free too and got scrap out of the fabrication facility to boot! Win win!
