What did you do with your spare?

Mostly the ease of doing a 5 tire rotation when the tire is not mounted under the bed and not bashing the spare offroading.

I have 37x12.5 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss and the spare fits under the bed, but I did have to bend out the lower edge of the heat shield in places because it was catching on the tread blocks as I was trying to crank the spare up.

One thing not mentioned so far is that a swing away tire carrier is going to increase the length of the vehicle. No idea if it would be an issue for you, but our JTR wouldn't fit in our garage in Phoenix if it was another 18" in length.

What I use / have bought to make 5 tire rotations as easy as possibly for me (not screwing up my back is priceless) is the following:

Lower the spare tire onto a furniture dolly. Way easier to get the spare under / out from under the truck that way.

One of these: spare crank tool so that don't have to get the OE one out from under the rear seat.

A fifth center cap for the spare, so don't have to remove / reinstall the center caps on each wheel.

A pair of these: Summit Racing wheel dolly.

A set of these: wheel alignment pins.

And finally this bottle jack with extensions because it always seems that the wheels of my HF Daytona floor jack get stuck in the expansion joints of the garage floor when jacking up the front axle.

FYI, the dealer will do your 5 tire rotations for the $30 they charge for a normal rotation. At least the dealers within 50 miles of me all do, even Toyota does.

I'm confused... you have to remove the center cap on the spare to fit the lift/mount/craddle.

My 37x13.5 on true beadlock is under the bed. I do 5-tire rotations. I'm not sure why you wouldn't put it in the stock location.

I lowered it throwed behind the jeep, ask the guy standing next to me if He wanted it . Then cranked the cable up went home took some sockets tore the crank off and throwed in my pile of worthless $#!t.

Wheels that I have the center caps snap in from the back side. The way my luck tends to go is that I'd end up breaking off a plastic tab on a center cap. Having a spare guarantees that I'll never break one.

I don't have a lift so I only jack one wheel into the air at a time. This way I'm only putting the extra cap onto the old spare when it comes down and removing it from the new spare when it gets cranked back up.

Otherwise it's remove and replace on each corner of the vehicle.

I'm still confused. How is it remove and replace on each corner? Just pop the cap off the wheel thats going to the spare and pop it on the wheel that came from the spare. No need to touch any other wheels cap. You don't have to swap caps with every wheel.

I too only do one at a time. It's quite simple.

Remove rear right and set aside. Replace with spare. No need to mess with caps yet.
Remove front right and replace with what came from rear right.
Remove Rear left and replace with what came from front right.
Remove front left and replace with what came from rear left.
Pop cap off what came from front left and pop it onto rear right. Cap can be installed even if wheel is mounted.
Mount new spare into place.

I mean, more power to ya with whatever system you have going on, but...

I stopped leaving my spare under the bed when I blew a tire while in a deep rut in my 94 Ranger. The frame was in the mud and I couldn't get the spare out. Young and no money meant none of us really had any recovery gear. One yank strap and 30 minutes later, we got it out of the rut and high enough to get the spare out, but not until after I tore up the bottom of my bed dragging it 30 yards. I've just kept up the habit of keeping it in the bed ever since. That, and my wheels are too nice to leave hidden under the bed!

35"s. 5 matching wheels. Mine is under the bed and I do 5 tire rotate. Under the bed is just as easy or difficult as having it mounted on a swing out or in the bed. I personally think trucks look weird with a bumper mount swing out.
