People might be trying to figure out how bad the dealer mark up problem is across the country. Some places are adding 17K to sticker price and some places are selling for 7k below sticker price. Where i live the dealer mark ups are insane.Kind of wonder why it matters as it gets more sticky with trades, etc.
People need to feel better about what they paid I guess.
Right? It’s value is only what you’re willing to pay! Love it, buy it. hate it move onKind of wonder why it matters as it gets more sticky with trades, etc.

Don't expect anyone to know anything; they don't. Get the VIN, look it up and print it, then go highlight the things that matter. Repeat for others. I bought mine by looking up three candidates and highlighting the differences then deciding what I wanted to pay for. In the end I realized one was a Launch Edition and jumped on that.Just spent an hour on the phone with a gal at a dealer about an hour away. Saw that they just received a Gator Rubicon and only posted six pictures. None that show things I need to know.
My first question was does it have a forward facing trail camera, then auxiliary switches, then adaptive cruise. Two must haves and one must not have.
Her response was that the Rubicon Gladiator was the top of the line and comes with everything.
Rubicon comes with 2 inch lift and this one is so equipped that it has a Bluetooth speaker. No information that was useful to me.
She also said that there is a chip shortage so they have a $6k or $7k markup on MSRP. She also mentioned that her dealership does not honor Tread Lightly.
Gator Rubicon with 9000 miles on it. Too bad they’re not willing to negotiate. Told her I had a blank check in my wallet but wasn’t going to pay more than it was new.
That's hilarious... but then it gets sad when you realize they are getting away with this because someone will pay it. Same things with homes at the moment. **begins to cry internally**Just spent an hour on the phone with a gal at a dealer about an hour away. Patiently waiting on whatever colors and options are going to be available on 2022 editions. If nothing groundbreaking or inspiring gets conjured up then I will try and find a reasonably priced lightly used one in a color I like. I realize that I can order for less than the used market right now but I’m really hoping for some bold colors such as Mango Tango Pearl, or even Tuscadero on the Gladiator. I ain’t scared! And that eTorque engine option would be a consideration should it be made available.I've seen you post quite a bit about wanting to acquire yourself a Gladiator... why not factory order?
looks like a great deal. Congratulations.1) Factory Order (No Trade)
2) MSRP: $53,890
Rebates: $2,000
Additions: Window Tint $150
Sale price: $44,685
They are not getting away with anything; they are serving the market as it exists today. No different from when I "got away with" under-cutting them by $8k during the down market. Up-market charges are no different. That's hilarious... but then it gets sad when you realize they are getting away with this because someone will pay it.
