After a recent BOH trip and back on regular pavement, I kept hearing a clunk sound coming from the rear diff, it would happen if I got on the accelerator pedal a little heavy. If I took off slowly with my head out the window listing, I heard nothing. Windows back up and a normal take off the clunk was back. Turned out to be the hitch skid plate had a little slop and would make the clunking sound. DUHHH.
Been there. :)

My 2022 was my first ever vehicle with start/stop. The first time it cutoff at a red light I seriously had a panic attack my new Jeep with 20 miles on it died.

My 2024 was the first with Adaptive Cruise Control. So piling on to that band wagon. I never care to read manuals and thought you had to turn on the regular cruise control first, then set the adaptive cruise control. As such, I believed for months my ACC wasn't working. I finally watched a video on the FCA site and realized the regular cruise control and ACC are independent and that I am a moron.
Love it.

Convenient that this thread popped up this week because this JUST HAPPENED...

Was driving home from work threw a P06DD code and immediately mind went to the worst place.. Well I got home checked the oil level and it was low and then saw oil sitting in the valley below the oil filter housing. Thoughts went back to my JK when I had to replace the oil filter housing with a Dorman and also worried about oil cooler and all of the expensive things that come with it.

Then I looked closer and the oil was coming out around the threads of the oil filter.

My dumb ass put the O ring in the wrong spot so it was seeping out slowly after I had just changed my oil about two weeks ago. I had it butted up again the lip instead of in the valley where it belongs.

Ouch. I’ll never make fun of an oil mess. That’s a pain to clean up. But very glad it wasn’t actual engine damage.

Thankfully caught it, added oil (almost a quart after two weeks of daily driving) got a new filter and put the O ring in the correct place and the code as well as oil seepage disappeared.

Really glad you caught it. Hope the mess is not horrible.

Come to find out…. All those other cars we’ve owned had Electronic Parking Brakes. The Electronic Parking Brake is what holds the vehicles when stopped.
The JT still has a manual parking brake. 😆
As a side note...I know this has been mentioned several times as I've read through this thread and we should all be thankful that the JT's still have the manual parking brake. I love to watch the recovery YouTubers (Matt's Offroad, Trail Mater, Fab Rats, etc.) and they tend to have a devil of a time dealing with the cars that have the electronic parking brakes whenever there is a situation where there is no power, i.e. battery dead, no keys, etc.

And my story:

Not unlike @Larry D and the nut in the rain gutter or @Sempe-Fi Rubicon and the loose hitch skid, I did not get one of my kitchen drawers latched and there was about a half inch of travel for it to bang against the tailgate every time I accelerated:

This is fun. I’m enjoying these. I agree. Manual cables for e brakes is the best way if you’re using something off road.

2 things as a longtime Jeep owner:

1) While in 4Hi, taking a tight 180 degree turn on a snowy patch, I thought my diff was going to snap

2) After changing my Main+Aux batteries, I kept getting what I thought was a low voltage reading of 12.4v. I spent weeks charging the battery every night in the garage thinking it was going to stall. Nope, just only ready 14.x volts sometimes. Lots of time wasted.

My local tire shop tried three times and with different mechanics to balance my rear wheels changing weights each time without success. Concerned that it might be the ring gear or U-joints, I went to a Jeep dealer. $186 later, their minimum charge, the wheels were balanced. The local shop must have an out of balance Hunter machine.

My husband has had Adaptive cruise on his cars for years. We both thought….OH, this is gonna be easy. Should be the same…. 🙄…and it is, kinda.

We’d used the Adaptive Cruise before, but apparently…didn’t have the exact situation pop up to take notice.

Traffic slowed down to a stop…... The Jeep came to a stop. We’re talking and the jeep started rolling forward. WTF? Put my foot on the brakes quick…… What was that??? This was only a few months after we bought it…. Now what??
We thought…Oh great, there’s something wrong with the AC.

Come to find out…. All those other cars we’ve owned had Electronic Parking Brakes. The Electronic Parking Brake is what holds the vehicles when stopped.
The JT still has a manual parking brake. 😆

Ahhhhh………...
I noticed the same thing then also noticed that right before it started rolling it beeped and gave me a warning on the dash display that it was about to turn off AC due to lack of movement.

My ACC/FCW was turned off/needs service. Buying my gladiator used, it was already lifted, on 35's, suspension work, new windshield etc.

Coming from an 08 Wrangler with no options on it, to a Rubicon Gladiator was a huge learning curve on the extras.

I saw the dash lights after I drove off the lot, called it into the Jeep dealership. (Bought from a Ford dealership that didn't know what those lights were)

Anyhow, after a diagnostic appointment for that and other warranty issues, found out it was because it was lifted and on bigger tires that it is shut off because it isn't in the stock configuration. I felt silly because I didn't do my homework like I normally do. Whole reason I joined this forum, same as other vehicles I own/owned.

Oops.

However, got a local shop that deals with this, and after my next round of mods, they'll take a look and either recalibrate or turn it off for me.

I’ve gotta say that that doesn’t make sense…I have a 2020 JTR with 2-1/2” lift and 37” tires and my ACC works just fine. Now I’ve changed the tire size in the computer with a Tazer and maybe that has something to do with it, but I suspect you’ve got something else going on for ACC not to be working.

1. Make sure someone hasnt pulled or blown any fuses associated with ACC.

2. Make sure the sensor isn’t blocked/windshield dirty

3. Is your battery voltage correct?

4. Does the regular cruise control work properly? If the steering wheel is too far off center (>2 degrees I think), the computer will disable cruise control. Simple adjustment of the drag link can correct this.

Food for thought

Mine works just fine as well. Larger lift, and also 37’s.
