I bought this cart from EZRrunk at the Toledo Jeep fest this past weekend. It works awesome and I can easily take it with me when traveling. It’s very stable and easy to move.

I installed these last night and, once I figured it all out, took my maiden voyage with no doors. Definitely need a good solution for side mirrors now. But if I'm gonna do that, I may as well get some cool half doors.... lol -- there's always a next thing, right? Anyway, it's worth noting the obvious -- that lower hinge is positioned pretty far down the length of the door -- I'd have installed this whole thing a little lower if I did it again.

Sad to say this... these doors hung happily on the ORC Stowaway for days. The problem came when I tried to take one down. It's on the left, driver's side, rear seat. As I went to lift it out of the hinges, the entire thing ripped out of my wall, and all 4 doors collapsed on top of each other on the mostly (aside from the cardboard in the picture) concrete floor.

The drivers door has a horrible bend now at the lower corner, the passenger door escaped any real damage as far as I can tell, but the two rear doors sustained multiple scuffs, dents, and creases.

We've gone back over the install -- stud finder still says all 4 holes were in line with the stud, the holes left in the wall have both sheetrock and wood dust in them, and the bolts were cinched in well enough to leave round indents on the mounting brace.

So, either the stud finder is wrong, or maybe the alignment was off just enough for the lag bolts to only partially catch the stud -- or the bolts weren't long enough to begin with.

I have not contacted the dealer yet -- I'm sure they'll tell me it was a bad install -- and maybe it was -- but I can't say I can see from what was left in the aftermath what exactly may have been done incorrectly. It's worth noting they held up ok while I hung the doors, and held the doors without pulling out for several days after, so you'd expect there had to be more than sheetrock holding them from the start, but nevertheless, with 300 lbs of doors bouncing off the concrete floor (with me under them) something definitely went wrong.

Newbie jeep owner and love taking the doors off, but I haven’t found a good storage solution for the doors.

What are efficient ways to store the doors with limited garage space?
I'm all about trying to get things up off the floor to keep space free for other stuff, so I got these wall-mount door hangers and they're fantastic. The doors are up off the floor and against the wall, so protected from damage:

Good excuse to now go doorless.

Made this last year. I don’t have a garage so needed something I could use outside. Best part is it comes apart and stores in a duffel bag

I use the Rugged Ridge bags (link in first thread response.) I can easily move them around the garage or take them wherever is convenient to be out of the way (basement, back deck, etc.).

DIY door holder. Furniture dolly from HF. Two or three 2x4's, pieces of carpet and 8 eyehooks. What I don't like about the commercially bought hangers that attach to the wall is all of the weight of the door is supported by the hinges, which is not the way they were designed. On the jeep the weight the door is supported by the frame, not just the hinges. Anyway these are easy to make. I stack the doors so the outside of the doors are facing inside

when on the dolly so the exterior doesn't get damaged while rolling them around in the garage or when the kids are running around the doors. Also the eye bolts are a half of inch lower on each hinge so all of the weigh of the doors is on the dolly. The eye bolts just keep the doors up right. (I forgot I also took some scrap plywood and screwed it on the middle of the furniture dolly to make a solid floor on the dolly which I then covered with carpet.)

Might take up more room. Do you lay the doors down on the cart?
No, I stand then up like the others with the movers dollies do. I put towels in between each door then strap them all together to the handle. Bonus is the cart folks flat when there are no doors on it.

Sorry for this.

When I install anything that is heavy on the wall, I locate the studs (2 to 3 of them) and slap a chunk of 3/4 plywood on using 4 x 2 1/2" screws on each stud, then secure my brackets to the plywood. I have done this on TV's, and in the garage for heavy items. Gives a lot better mounting surface to bite into, and also allows for more fine tuning of where you want the item to hang.

I dropped my driver door a few weeks ago. Just being dumb and clumsy.

It folded the upper corner and cracked the paint. Took it to my friends body shop where he charged me what he had in to it. Ended up being $250 just to give you a rough idea.

With your damage to the rear doors though, I'd probably get insurance involved.
