What does everyone do with their stock bumpers?

In my case, I replaced the stock plastic front bumper on my JTR - the process of removing the LED fogs and wiring harness to use in the new steel bumper made the original plastic one fairly worthless. That being said, it is sitting in the back yard - come spring cleaning time it will likely go to the landfill.

I bought a JL Willys plastic bumper for $20 and put it on my Gladiator to replace the ugly base model one with the air dams. Around here, plastic bumpers off a rubicon or Mojave seem to list for about $100, but I doubt they ever sell for that.

I bought the overland running boards for $50 and the 75th anniversary wheels and Ko2’s for $600. I need to learn how to stay off the FB marketplace.

I have never bought a new jeep before. So just curious, what does everyone do with their stock bumpers after they replace them?

Put it in the shed (right next to every other OEM takeoff I have) so that I can put it back on if I ever trade in the Jeep. I'll be damn if I'm going to let some stealership NOT pay me for all the accessories when I can easily sell them myself.

I cant find much info(maybe need to look again) but I have a Rubicon and ordered the steel bumpers. Will a winch mount up to them without modification ? Do the make a Bull bar/hoop for the oem steel bumpers ? Thanks !

I am not 100% sure but I think you can buy a winch plate for the stock steel bumpers to mount a winch to.

I keep all factory parts I take off. Back in October 2020 I met up with an elk at night on the highway. The collision wrote off the truck and the insurance adjuster gave me .25 cents on the dollar for all my upgrades. I had $11k cad in upgrades and got $2700 for it all. I had kept most of the factory items so the truck was towed to my garage in the alley and I spent the day taking off what upgrades were still good and put the factory stuff back on then sold my upgrades privately.

Yes, a winch will mount without bumper modification. You will need a winch mounting plate. Here's what I did with my stock bumper:

That looks really good ! Your lights look like the could turn night to day...lol Is the winch plate by Mopar ? Do you remember what brand yours is ? I have heard the stock steel bumpers are actually really nice. Do you know if Mopar or any other quality company makes a (if I'm using the right term) a bully bar or halo for the OEM steel bumper ?
