I think female Jeepers wave at me at least as much as other male Jeepers do.

Maybe there's a difference in some areas but I don't see it where I live.
Around here I've noticed it's the younger Jeep females that don't wave. Like highschool/college age. The ones over 30 or so wave as much as the men.

My assumption has been it's some combo of not paying attention, not knowing about waving, and thinking I'm trying to hit on them by waving.

Well in this case we're in not only the same part of the country, but same part of the state so not sure why that'd be. Most of my driving is in Black Mountain and I'd say around 0% of the female Jeep drivers return a wave around here vs 75% of men. I'm guilty myself of missing one once in a while when looking at the instrument panel or radio, but I'd bet I'm at 90%+ when driving around town. Maybe MonkeySkunks is on to something about women being less open to waving at strangers in general.

Yes I agree we’re in the same neighborhood, just down the hill in Marion. We love the Trailhead, by the way — I need to go eat there again soon ā€˜cause it’s been a while. :)

I’m not sure what the difference is, but yeah I can see how a younger female might think the guy is hitting on her if she didn’t get the Jeep wave thing. Even so, it looks like she’d notice it was another Jeep and eventually get the clue.

My mid 20’s daughter doesn’t have a Jeep but wants one BECAUSE of the community we have. She thinks the wave is weird but very cool. My wife likes driving it and getting waves. I sometimes get waved at first by women here in Marion, but most of them wave back and smile if I go first. I don’t mean to say they all wave because they don’t, but the same is also true with men. I’ve noticed the same if we’re at the coast - most are friendly wavers regardless of sex. I have noticed that in larger cities like Raleigh for instance people don’t seem to get into the wave so much, and I’m not sure if that’s mostly one sex or the other.

Maybe it’s my Jeep build (or lack thereof?). I don’t have a very aggressive-looking truck. It’s got cool tires and wheels but they’re not big and lifted. I’ve got ducks in my windshield. ā€œIslanderā€ decals and a tiki guy on my hood. I’ve got a gray beard and wear a straw fedora in summer and a felt bowler in the cooler months, so maybe I look more like a quirky old man rather than some kind of threat. I dunno.. Go figure.

Not sure if it's been already been mentioned, but one true stereotype is the bigger the tires, the smaller the peepee. If you're running 40s, you're sporting an innie. Hahaha...

JK. Just for the record I'm very secure with my set of 35s. Hahah...

Hmmm, I just switched to 13 inch tires.
