I would consider installing the Mopar lift kit on my Rubicon, but I don't want to jeopardize fuel economy/towing performance.
I know it’s kinda apples and oranges, but I put the Mopar 2” lift on my JKUR and the mileage was not impacted. I kept the stock size tires though.

That's good to hear. There's a thread somewhere on here in which people have posted pictures of their camper. I probably need to find out who is towing with the Mopar lift to get a idea of towing performance.

Do you have a picture of your Jeep with the lift and stock size tires? Do the tires look a little undersized with the lift?

Here is the last picture I have. I liked how it looked, but some don’t like this look. It is a Rubicon Hardrock and the 2” Mopar lift gave just over 3”’of lift as the only heavy thing on the Jeep are the Rockslide Engineering steps (I love those things). I gave it to my sister. The rear tires look too forward in this pic but they are centered in the fender well.

Thanks for posting. Based on that photo, I think the stance looks good with factory wheels/tires. I wish Mopar offered a true 2" lift.

I gave it to my sister.
Wow, you're a great brother!

Well, if people with a winch and skid system didn’t get 2” of lift they would complain so they (Mopar) are trying to cover their butts.

This is a known issue because of the diesel's longer bumpstop mounts reducing the amount of uptravel compared to the gasser, compounded by the fact that the OEM diesel front springs are still too soft for the weight of the diesel. Just driving down the street to my house used to be unbearable, with the front suspension bottoming out at anything more that 10mph. Yes, it's a crappy street, but still....

After a lot of research into spring heights and spring rates, I settled on Rock Krawler's 3-inch diesel-specific front springs. I got an honest 3 inches of lift height in spite of the weight of my bumper, winch, and skidplates. I use MetalCloak's adjustable bump stop system with a single 1-inch puck in conjuction with their Durospring bumpstops to keep my 37's out of the fenders. And to minimize how much I even need to use the bumpstops in the first place, I installed Icon CDCV shocks with their adjustable damping and unique built-in bump zone.

This has been a fantastic combination of upgrades that has pretty much completely eliminated suspension bottoming. My Jeep is no Raptor, but it's certainly on par with a Mojave, or more likely even better. No longer am I limited to 10mph on my street. In fact, I've bounced my Gladiator off its speed limiter on Utah 2-tracks without bouncing the axle off of its bumpstops. It completely transformed my Jeep's performance. The shocks also provide rock-solid stability when towing my travel trailer.

For reference, my unladen front axle weight is 3580lb. with me in the driver's seat, as measured at a certified scale. My buddy's gas Gladiator's front axle weight was 3220lb. with almost the same mods as mine, but on 40's instead of my 37's.

I have the same issue. Hard bottom out on minor pot holes at moderate speed. Would a leveling kit work, or would the best answer be to install 2" lift. It looks like my drivers side shock is weeping oil, so maybe that's the route I should take anyway, to replace the crappy OEM stuff. Not really interested in larger tires, just a better ride.
Is there a brand out there cheaper and/or better than the Mopar kit?

The springs I posted earlier from Clayton. And Bilstein 5100 shocks. The springs will raise the front up about one inch, plus they are a bit stiffer. The oem Rubi shocks are valved on the soft side. This is the best bang for the buck.

The bump stops on the 3.0L slam hard on anything like a minor pothole at speed. I had to baby it on the trail the other weekend as well.

Is it me, or is this known? I’m temped to get some teraflex oil damped stops until I get the lift.
Jeeps are notorious for this problem. I drive 1000s of miles of hard offroad trails in MOAB and AZ every year, and these Sumo Springs made all the difference. Super easy install.

Mine had it horrible too.

Part of the issue is tire PSI, check to make sure you are not running too much pressure.

I first did a 1.5” puck. It helped but didn’t help 100%

Then I did metal cloak bump stops. They were really stiff and didn’t help much. If anything they made it worse because of how long they were.

Then I did the Mopar lift with a 1” puck in front and 3/4” puck in rear, with a front track bar, and rear track bar relocation. I also did the metal cloak geo brackets, gears, 37” tires…. The list goes on…..

It’s much so much better now. But I do find the bumps sometimes off-road… but hardly ever…

Start with tire pressure.

Thanks for sharing that Rusty.
You mentioned Rubi shocks. Is that what Gladiator you have? I have the Sport S, and I'm sure the stock shocks are low end. The Blistein's would be a huge improvement I'm sure.
Did you keep the same bump stop, or switch?

I have a Rubi. The oem Fox shocks are weak. I kept the oem bump stops until I did the 4" lift. Then I installed hydraulic bump stops.

My 2023 Rubicon EcoDiesel came factory with the red colored shocks. According to @ATL_Rubi, the red shocks are made by Tenneco. Apparently, Tenneco owns and manufactures Rancho shocks. So far, it rides good, and I haven't had any issues with the factory red shocks.

I had Rancho shocks for years and they performed well enough for my use. Living in SoCal there was no worries about rust. I had the 9000’s on a Ford Ranger for over 10 years with no issues.
I even had another set put on my Jeep Liberty. Granted it didn’t really see any offroad though but they lasted nearly 10 years with no issues before I sold that Jeep.
