Our second vehicle, which predated the Gladiator, is a Prius. It's my wife's "dream car"...the Gladiator is mine. We daily drive our own vehicles, but look at "mission requirements" for longer trips. Prius won't tow our RV, so that trumps those missions...Prius is soooo economical for road trips that just transport two bodies (plus dog) and luggage.

It's a blessing to have vehicles we both love individually, and have such different capabilities. The "carbon footprint" averages out to the more mainstream rides we both drove before.
I too feel blessed. I also had my Prius before my Gladiator, and at first glance, they seem like an odd couple. Actually, this is my second Prius, which had over 300K miles on it before i traded it in for a new one. It's a perfect commuter car. The Gladiator will be more of a work Truck, I'm getting my Western snow plow installed a week from today, helping me with my tree maintenance obligations. Then my wife has a hybrid Camry which we take on long trips, its much more comfortable on long trips. :)

The Gladiator is our "comfortable" vehicle.
While this is also a convertible (seriously, for where I live, why own a vehicle that isn't ?) this complements the Jeeps well for us. It gets a bit better mpgs (not that I really care), but it is FUN to drive in ways the Jeeps just aren't.

Best sports car EVER! Underrated, low initial cost, low cost of ownership, and a lot of fun, especially on curvy roads.

Well, I just got my Mojave (and first truck ever) last week and from what I have experienced so far I could not be happier...We know what these things are designed, that is optimized for, best in class (mid size) off road experience...That said, it also has a much more luxuries interior than anything else in its class...More money yes, but all round, nothing else in its class compares.

Second car, well, I have a 2003 STS and in 2 years or so will likely duplicate it with another luxury sports sedan. I don't see much point in having two cars/trucks which more or less are designed for the "same" thing, so each will be a class leader in its space.

Yep, I've been daily driving mine for ~ 7 years. Quite a few track days, countless autocrosses (even placed first in class overall with our local group a couple years ago). I'm not easy on it and it's been extremely reliable. I've had to do essentially nothing to it to keep it in working order other than tires, brakes, and fluids.

For me… perfection in a second vehicle is a mildly built 2013 5.0 convertible Mustang GT 6speed manual… yes, Red of course! And for fun? Yes a red 2001 XR250R… perfect!

I was actually just thinking about this the other day. I thought a Tesla is the best anti-Jeep.

Fully electric. Fast. All road, no off-road.

I just went through a similar dilemma, I have 0 intentions on hauling it anywhere but for a commuter car, it is a depreciating asset. I like to keep my Jeep at home for play so I bought a Kia Forte GT... fun/peppy/mediocre sized... 1.6 Turdblow 6spd manual.. get 36 mpg to and from work (200hp). I drive 130miles round trip daily for work... longevity is still up for discussion but it’s a nice interior and the GT is loaded as it gets for the Forte. Nice stereo, sunroof, leather/cloth touchscreen radio that is quite large. Best of all brand new it cost the same amount as almost anything used near me (non-clapped out/lowish mileage) and less than some used vehicles

EDIT: My wife drives a 2018 Grand Cherokee... so there’s that too

We have a 2018 JLR (my wife’s), my 2021 JTM, and my DD 2013 Altima. The altima gets driven to work most of the time.
I am heading to FL for the weekend and trying to decide which to drive, the Altima for the mileage or the JT for the enjoyment.

Wouldn't that be in kilometers over there? So 60kpg? Or 60kpl? ;)

The Golf/Jetta TDI are fantastically efficient for motoring. Wish VW didn't f**k everything up. I'd like an Audi TDI.
Hello,

The lowest fuel consumption was 3,9 liter per 100 km (72 km one way to the office).
3,9 l/100km are 60,3 mpg.

oh, i'm just kidding around. ;) I figured you'd have the right numbers.

60km per gallon would be horrible compared to 60mi per gallon.

My wife's 2021 Acura RDX A-Spec is a perfect second car with a family. We wanted our 4th MDX in a row, but with the chip shortage, the new 2022 MDX was very hard to come by.

The RDX is luxurious, turbocharged, looks great, and runs like a bat out of hel|. It still has enough cargo space to make it useful, but I do have to admit we miss the MDX space (and 3rd row).

Nice Lotus! ?
I also have a black 4C. ❤

Yup, all the time. I just explain the difference, open the door and show them the CF Tub.
That's when the OOOOs and AAAAAs start happening.

I love the Lotus Elise and Exige as well, but the Alfa is refined just enough more to make it a better DD and the AC always works.
