Having just unloaded a Cayenne S Hybrid and a built Audi S6, I must say the Polestar 2 is an awesome complement to the Gladiator. The interior is not as refined as the German contenders but the fit and finish are better than equivalent Tesla options. And the Polestar is a great way to offset the senseless MPG of the Gladiator .

Coming from a long line of performance diesel and gas ICE vehicles, I must say I love electric.

Here in upstate New York my Summer Toy is a 2021 Corvette Stingray. Our daily driver for winter and summer is a 2021 Honda Clarity Plug-in hybrid and now our new winter toy is the 2021 Gladiator Rubicon.

I have the Mini Cooper Clubman, which is awesome—30s MPG, AWD, fast enough, awesome handling. But when I decided to buy a gas guzzling pickup, I figured I should get an electric to complement it. So I’m waiting for my Mini Cooper SE to show up. Really quick and comfortable. I’ve owned a few Miatas, but gonna get my convertible time in the Gladiator.

I was too. Figured my head would be on a pike. The price point was surprising for us with the plug-in xc60. We have a ‘22. It was roughly the same price as a wrangler 4xE, works in the cold, and is way more vehicle for the money. Way more.

Why would you say fuel efficient vehicles have higher insurance premiums?
I didn't say that. Basically what I am saying is that the added monthly payment and added insurance coverage for a new fuel efficient vehicle combined would be a loss.
Say for instance last year you were spending $150.00 a month for fuel for a non hybrid Jeep.
Now its double and you are spending $300.00 a month for fuel for your non hybrid Jeep.
You are like well I need to save money but I don't want to get rid of my Jeep so you go buy a new econobox that gets way better fuel economy.
Fuel Cost are now $100.00 a month for the Econobox
Car payment is $300 and insurance is $100.00.
You are now at an additional $500.00 out of pocket. Did you save anything?
You could keep driving the Jeep and have its monthly payment and insurance with an up'ed fuel cost of $150.00 over what you had without the cost of a new econobox and insurance.
That's what I am saying. I have this discussion with people I know all the time. If you are keeping your non efficient ride it really makes no sense to buy an additional vehicle to safe money on fuel.

That’s a bit of a stretch to think most individual drivers would buy a second fuel efficient vehicle and keep the guzzler, and then claim it’s more efficient or cheaper. What many are saying, including me, is that you can compliment the Jeep with something different as a household. We have two suvs. One gladiator that does some things great, and others not so great. Our other suv gets fantastic mileage, is faster and more comfortable, and safer. They cost a very similar amount, and are identical in insurance costs. We drive the comfortable fuel efficient one when it’s appropriate, and the gladiator when it is. It balances into a reasonably fuel efficient household, without spending more than we would with two guzzlers. Less actually as they’re a wash in cost and insurance, but one gets crazy good mileage.

Don't laugh, but the Subaru Outback compliments the Gladiator as a second vehicle quite well. Gets great gas mileage, has a ton of room, great on long trips, the AWD is amazing in all conditions and it handles our NC mountains like a champ. On bad weather days, I'm more likely to hop in that than the Jeep.

Fits in the bed, also good off road, 80 mpg.

I’m always keeping an eye out for a used TW. It would go well in the bed of the Gladiator.
I have been looking for a decent deal on a used one for about 25 years now.

I dont know how things are where you live but those things just dont depreciate here.
10+ year old ones are not that much less than new.
2-3 year old ones are as much as new or more.
Only really ragged ones seem to dip under $2K

Reminds me a lot of jeeps.
I probably just need to go buy a new one.

May give away my age and probably not politically correct but does anyone else feel like the Mini and the Miata are kinda girly cars? Its just that over the years there are cars I would never own, more than those two that were just a bit feminine. Kind of like riding 2 guys on same Harley.

Nope, not at all.

One think I've learned in life is that many people don't share my taste in a lot of things - and I try my best not to look down on anyone's choice of automobile.

One of my cars is extremely feminine - you should see the set of hips on it! ?

I use the gladiator as my daily on purpose, as I work from a home office many days. That way we put more day to day miles on the fuel efficient vehicle.

I don’t laugh at that at all. Nice choice. Still good in poor weather, but better mileage and more fun to drive.

It's great on long trips too because it's crazy how much you can fit in the back of an Outback. The newer ones also have a TON of safety features like the lane assist, adaptive cruise, etc. Plus CarPlay. Can't live without my CarPlay. ?

OMG, I tried to order a WR Blue 22BRZ for my second car last month, missed the order cutoff by 2 days. Now I'm on a waiting list for an allocation for a GR86. ?
I had my order in early October, luckily got allocation from the second wave of deliveries!

The 86 has the nice front bumper. It’s a fun car, you’re going to love it.
