I have been looking for a decent deal on a used one for about 25 years now.

I dont know how things are where you live but those things just dont depreciate here.
10+ year old ones are not that much less than new.
2-3 year old ones are as much as new or more.
Only really ragged ones seem to dip under $2K

Reminds me a lot of jeeps.
I probably just need to go buy a new one.
I think you’re on to something here.

I had my order in early October, luckily got allocation from the second wave of deliveries!

The 86 has the nice front bumper. It’s a fun car, you’re going to love it.
Maybe.... If I can ever get one, lol.

It's great on long trips too because it's crazy how much you can fit in the back of an Outback. The newer ones also have a TON of safety features like the lane assist, adaptive cruise, etc. Plus CarPlay. Can't live without my CarPlay. ?
Yep. Our very similar Volvo XC60 has those, and highway self driving.

For sure, yeah I went through the same thought process.

Going new is the way to go IMO while they're still being made at least. Although I was tempted to find one from the mid 90s just because of the cool paint schemes.

The correct answer is a Wrangler, obviously. It's all the "party in the front" of a Gladiator without any of that "business in the back" nonsense.

Any model Corvette convertible goes nicely with many vehicles. Color is your choice.

I love my gladiator and don’t plan to to get rid of it anytime soon. However its not the most comfortable vehicle and drive a lot during the week which cost me over $5000 in fuel last year.

I’m starting to look for a good complimentary vehicle and curious if looking to bounce ideas off of the community.

In my opinion the gladiator is:
1. Fun
2. Convertible
3. Good enough towing/utility for me
4. Okay cabin space
5. Poor cost/ fuel economy

I think a good counterpart would be:
1. Comfortable
2. Cost/ fuel efficient
3. Quality interior and infotainment (kind of in-line with “Comfortable”)
4. Easily towable as a bonus. I have a trip every year or two I’d like to bring this along on.
I kept my 2017 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk when I bought my JTR. Couldn’t be happier with the duo. I have great road manners with the WK2 and am never without serious off-road capabilities. I took the GC out in the dessert the other day and it reminded me how capable it is. On the way back on the freeway it was extremely comfortable and efficient.

I have a 2015 BMW M235i (manual of course) and I think it's a great companion in that it's kind of the opposite. It's a coupe, it's much smaller, much faster, better mpg - though mpg doesn't impact my driving.

With that said, I think a nice hot hatch is a great companion. I had a Golf GTI and it was very nice to zip around town. I kind of want another GTI or R32/R, but I don't know if I want one bad enough to sell the M235i.......

Sorry for the bad photos, I haven't taken a photo of both vehicles together on purpose and I haven't taken any recent photos of the M235i

In my perfect world, a special Porsche (911 GT3 Touring, 911 GTS, Boxster Spyder, Cayman R, etc.) would probably be the best complimentary vehicle.

Right now my retired daily driver (now garage queen) is a '16 BMW M2. The Mojave is my new daily driver -- way more space, don't care if it gets dirty, can go off road and/or make up the mountain during powder days...

For me, there’s two. Hellcat Widebody and a Honda S2000. All completely different driving experiences and all a blast. I’m fortunate to have the best stable I’ve ever had in my life.

How about a loaded JL with the skyview roof? Got a loaded '21 JL Sahara with the skyview roof for my wife in Firecracker red so she would stop borrowing my JT. The skyview is perfect for her as she didn;t want to have to deal with pulling the roof or freedom tops on or off. Now the only problem we have is deciding which one we want to take! We've already driven it on a couple of 1000+ mile trips. Comfortable and averages about 21 hwy. Only mod: slight tire size upgrade: Falken Wildpeak AT3W 285/65/R18.

I drive a 2011 335d as my daily. The jeep is a toy like my 73 fj40 and 49 chevy 5 window. I do need another 2500 since I sold my power stroke in August. I'm getting 25 mpg and just turned 9600 miles.

2022 JLU Willys. As of today, 111 miles on it. I don't know which one is more comfortable to drive. My JTR is/was the best handling and driving Jeep I've owned. Our new JLU is pretty darn nice.

My Gladiator is the daily driver that serves as my truck and convertible. But I also like carving through mountain roads…so I bought a used Mini Cooper. Both are fun but in different ways.
If I had more to spend on the second car, I’d have bought a VW GTI or a Tesla Model 3.
You could go with 2 compliments?. We’ve got a Model 3 (does well on your 5 requirements) and a 77 Trans Am LS3 restomod.
