Whip lights?

Anyone running whip lights on a gladiator? I see them on wranglers a lot. I like the idea having the bright lights when off road in the woods/ trails. I used them in my side by side and loved having them especially when trail riding having them as a night “guide” with other riders.

I got (2) 4’ lights through the stinger off-road ambassador program. I’m trying to see where I can mount them and the quick release feature is perfect so I don’t have to have them on all the time.

So I've been looking to find a good flag mount as I like to run my Forever Wave American Flag ?? during the summer, plus I want to put a whip & flag on my Jeep for the beach. I really don't want anything up front so these are the 3 options I've found so far;

I couldn't find any good photos of these, and for my needs the are not ideal as I'd have to have the end of the cover flipped up.

The Quake and 4x4 Attitude are my top choice, with the quake being the 1st choice mostly since I've found a lot of people use them and have made them work with the Mopar roll up tonneau cover.

Yes. I love mine for a scene light, and for visibility at OHVs at night.

I agree, I was reading a few comments over on Extreme Terrains customer reviews that talk about modifying the covers, but not much detail - the photos give some good images of the install.

The stinger whip light came with a
Flag for each. I had to run a flag also when I went to mud bog events

Be sure you are aware of where your going. I seen where some places require the whip to be on the front depending on the class of vehicle. Jeeps, Wranglers and Gladiators would fall into the class where the whip has to be on the front. Now this is just some OHV areas and definitely not all.

Also, Moab has outlawed lighted whips in town and residential areas. Pretty sure their still OK out on the trails. If Moab has done it, I'm sure other communities will eventually follow.

Mounted is fine, being lit up is the issue. Pretty sure you have to have a whip/flag out in the sand dunes area. But maybe not in a truly (50 states) street legal vehicle.

The rules and regulations have recently changed in Moab. Most are just common sense and/or common courtesy towards others.

I would recommend the quake, I used them with my rolling cover. Right side held a flag (they're made for the whip lights obviously) and my GMRS antenna. I hit mine with some bed-liner to make them blend in a bit better.

Worked great until I tore my soft tonneau on the highway, then I switched to a hard folding cover and relocated my antenna and flag. Ended up relocating my flag to the front of the truck for the official trails and my antenna to the passenger windshield bolt.

@Zero_Accel any idea roughly how far these stick out from the bed? The ones from 4x4 Attitude say they stick out about 3.5" which seems like a lot, while the Quake look like maybe 2"?

I want to say that these stick out about 2.5" from the bed, hard to take a photo and measure at the same time! Gives you just enough clearance to get a wrench on it without hitting the bed (put some electrical tape to help prevent accidental scratches). Dug the brackets out from the pile of spare parts.

I'd be willing to give these to you if you want. The only thing is I don't have any of the hardware the full kit comes with. With shipping these would be about $20 bucks versus $70 for the full kit. Some touch ups with spray bedliner, or stripping back down to bare aluminum and you'd be good to go.
