As of 8am pct, we've got Yukon 4.88 JL/JT gears in stock. A number of sets for the rear and two sets left for the front:

We also have genuine Dana JL/JT rear sets in stock:

What sort of chipping and cracking are you seeing on Yukon gears? Were they used?

Got pics?
Here's some examples - I forget which model this was exactly, but all of them had similar chips and fractures (I hope this isn't within spec...)

Obviously fron a visual standpoint that isn't ideal, but the gears would never make contact at those locations. In an actual install situation, I would massage those teeth so there were no sharp edges and install them. It's purely cosmetic.

It was mostly due to lack of stock on most if not all sites. Either they were 30+ days out or no eta at all. I’ve gotten plenty of things from Amazon without issue - but I guess maybe this is one you shouldn’t. FWIW I got my Mopar lift from Amazon, which happened to be from a Jeep dealer.
Yeah its your money do what your comfy wasn't meant to be critical I know its a PITA right now getting stuff I just sunk a fortune into my rig and had to get creative at times. On the gears my guy at 4wheelparts here in Bakersfield (not that far really from you) just got a full kit front and back 5.13s in a matter of days. You may want to call them unless I'm missing something those'd work fine in your setup. Lemme know if I can help.

Those should never have been sold. Was the seller Amazon? I'd report something fishy about this.

No harm, no foul - didn't take it to be critical. I think it's good to call it out for others in the future if they stumble on this, some things are better purchased at speciality shops. Appreciate the offer - there's actually a 4WP in San Jose which is only 45 min from me. I had checked their site, but they were one of the ones consistently out of stock. I probably should have called. In any case, ordered from NorthRidge last night - next is to schedule an install.

give these guys a call too, https://eastcoastgearsupply.com/

They use to allegedly be a sub contractor cutting gears for yukon and had a house brand they would sell for less then yukon.

Looking at their site I don't see ECGS brand ring and pinion any more, so not sure what or if anything changed. I used their house brand ring and pinion on the front of my XJ with no issues.

Worth a call

East Coast Gear Supply?
My installer was struggling with install kits, ECGS had them in stock.
Their site doesnt call out JT, but in the JL section you can find stuff for our axles. Or give them a call.

Another vote for loving my 5:13s
Same, got 5.13s from them a few weeks back. Got the rear set REM polished at GearFX. Installing soon.

Most aftermarket gears are either made in Korea, China or India and the quality kind of goes in that order, with the Korean gears typically being the better.
And many of the aftermarket gears are made on the same assembly line, just put in different boxes.

Then throw in the supply chain issues, especially with supplies coming via cargo ships.....
What brand would you consider 'the best'?

Do you feel the REM polishing helps with the noise at all?
They aren't installed quite yet, but the polishing is to eliminate the 500 mile break in cycle. Hard to drive home 2 hours if you can only drive 20 minutes at a time then have to pull over and let it cool off completely.

Makes sense. I've always wondered how the factory gears got away without a break-in period. After seeing this, I assume they use a similar process.
