Upon first reading the title, I thought this is what was being discussed. The Quadratec YJL

If I have to imagine going extra-wild with the front looks of my JT and if I have to to experiment with the head lights (lots of ifs ?)
I would prefer/ like to see a complete single rectangle light (led) from end to end just on top of the front grill obviously this will make grill to be little shorter-which will match (not in proportion but aesthetically) the rectangle of the windshield! Just a follow up thought inspired from the discussions going on this forum ?.

I’ll preface this by saying, your Jeep, you do you, but I just don’t get it. Is it price? Availability? Are there more small square lights added than round? Totally a personal preference and I’m not hating. I just have never thought it looks right. They have round headlights and fog lights and there isn’t one square line on them minus their brick like shape.

Just curious, don’t take it too seriously if you have added square lights. It’s just a thought that’s always on my mind when I see Gladiators that I like with square lights added.
I have both

I applaud your curiosity @NC_Overland. I also agree with your original post where you said “your Jeep, you do you” ?.

For me, it all started when I first got my JT and wanted to break up a solid red truck with some black accents. One being a light mount for the cowl. I found that with relative ease.

Didn’t make much sense (to me anyway) to add the mount and not (my first introduction to the Jeep accessory rabbit hole):
A: add lights to the mount
B: give my factory Aux switches a reason to exist

Not wanting to invest too much in a lighting project before other more impactful upgrades, I found some square cowl lights on the cheep from eBay.

I recently went down the path of changing out the plastic front bumper…. Along with that (deeper down the hole I fall), decided I wanted to add a 14” light bar on the new bumper which will (I believe) tie together the boxiness(?) of the light bar, cowl lights (that I have since upgraded but are still square) and windshield from the front of the truck.

My $0.02.
any pics posted anywhere ? Show us the RIG !

Rugged Ridge Arcus. Super happy with it.
very nice, I have the OEM Steel Rubicon bumper, I will probably remove the end caps. I've got the oem bull bar for it, hoping it will have enough room for a couple lights too, it's a good look !

You mean like these I put on this past weekend. Got a freaking deal on these Rigids. Also, the shapes don't generally bother me unless they are huge cubes. This is a 3" cube that goes with the winch head and the back grill that is symmetric. Also, I am not passionate either way on the shape of it.

I put square lights on the cowling and along the side of the windshield. They look better than a round light would mounted there. I plan to put round lights on the front bumper, maybe on a light bar on the roof line.

I’m going to under mount the light bar to the bull bar so it doesn’t get in the way of the trail cam.
That's what I wanted to do, but ultimately decided on a winch... so I will have to figure something different, unless I can find lights that fit with the winch.... do you have any interference now with the bar/trail cam ? Are you planning on adding a whinch ? I purchased one(bull bar), but haven't installed it yet, figured I would wait until my winch plate comes in(should be today).. are you going with round lights or square ? Rig looks great !

Besides the performance, one of the reasons I went with the BD LP6 Pros was the unique shape...rounded top and bottom with flat sides...almost a cross between round and square. I wouldn't put square lights or a light bar on the front. I went with square and a bar for scene lighting though. I think round would look strange back there. After all, the taillights are rectangular.

Thanks!

I’m planning on skipping the winch. I carry traction boards all the time along with rope and I make it a habit to not go crazy without one other rig.

Interference from the bar with the trail cam isn’t bad. If this post gets more than 3 likes I’ll grab and post a pic (there are some on here somewhere).

With a winch you’d prolly have to mount the light on top of the bar (I’m going to go under) which I think would make the trail cam almost useless (I could be wrong).
