Reminds me of a conversation we once had on the Camaro forum. An LS is different from an SS, which is different from a ZL1. All are Camaros and all are very different.

1LS, 2LS, 1LT, 2LT, 2LT with RS package, 1SS, 2SS, 2SS with RS package, Z28, and ZL1..

I never say that I drive a Camaro. I say that I drive a Camaro SS, even though its a 2SS/RS Camaro. ?

If this was a general chat forum, then it might be a bit of a brag to do it, but given that this is a Jeep Gladiator forum and the vast majority of participants own one variant or another, then it seems logical to fine-tune to the readers what package we have. It can be relevant to our point of view.

It bothers me a bit, honestly it makes the person sound like they don't know what they're taking about.
"Im looking for a jeep Rubicon" umm gonna need more info. Like they've just seen one with Rubicon Decal and assume it's somehow not a Wrangler.

But the worst that REALLY annoyed me was someone once said they wanted a Mojave. No joke he pronounce it MO-JAH-VEE with a hard J.

I kind of disagree with this- if you walk into a ford dealership and say you want a raptor, people know what you mean. A Ram dealership knows what a “power wagon” or “TRX” means. And if you go to a Jeep dealership, the dealer need only say “Gladiator or Wrangler?” And they know what you want.

Anyone else feel this way?
Nope, I have a Jeep Gladiator Overland. That's what it is. That's how it's marketed, that's how it's sold, that's how it's badged!! (It says OVERLAND right on it, so it's an Overland.
It's a lot more than "trim level" - Jeep people seem to be really hooked on that bit. Trim level is trim. Overland has less wide axles, different ratio, different wheels and tires, and features that many others didn't used to have - and it wasn't just trim.
Springs are different, ride is different, payload and towing is different. Only Jeep people insist it's only "trim". Trim is door handle colors, bumper colors, bright or black "trim" around things.

Funny thing - my Iowa registration says OVERLAND. Gee, when did they start caring about TRIM.

So I could argue - it's NOT trim.

Man, you need to get into the Javelin vs. AMX argument, or the Mark Donohue Javelin argument in some other places LOL - you'd be right at home.
A 1971 AMX is NOT a Javelin with the AMX trim! It actually has its own VIN digit, and model designation in the parts books.
Hmmm, same could be said about many of the Gladiator parts, eh? Drag link - Fits Rubicon or Fits Overland but not both - then how could it be "trim".

What if you said moJahvee? ?

Wasnt referring to dealer more just in conversation. Someone says they want a Rubicon it sounds to me like they are more wanting to buy branding or badging. If they really knew what they wanted, did their homework, etc. , would have specifics and know it's a trim level not a specific model. But again, only a bit annoyed by it....

MoJahVee though!?! Cmon

So when I ordered my Rubicon I should have told my dealer, (I want a jeep gladiator with front and rear electronic lockers, an electric disconnecting sway bar, different rims, upgraded axels ect?) They would most likely reply oh you want a Gladiator Rubicon. Lol

I'm going to take a stab at it and say you hate ducking and the Jeep Wave as well.
I also think it’s stupid the way people label them with all the initials, somebody was asking me how I liked my JTM and I asked him what the hell they were talking about. I don’t know what the hell a JTM is, he says your jeep truck, Mojave I said oh that it’s just a jeep.

I have had jeeps for about 50 years, so I guess I always seem to wave but I think the duck thing is stupid, I have never put a duck on somebody else’s and I have only seen one on mine but I don’t look for them. , maybe they were more, and they fell off when I drove away who knows.

My rig, Gladys, is a Rubicon! If it drives you crazy, that is a bonus.

Of all of the things to obsess about, this never made the list. And my list is long.
