I'm going to throw a wrench in all of this- Jeep considers them different "Models", so I think it's only fair that people tell you which "Model" of vehicle they have.... Apparently Gladiators don't even have trim levels;)

I think trim level is important. It’s not just the shape of the vehicle that satisfies but the trim level goes a bit further and tells you what ever detail is important to know. We are detail driven people.

Do we care what “beer” is offered? Do you want a beer no one wants or one that’s super popular? Trim levels matter! Fight for your right to know the details!
I don’t care what beer everyone wants. I want the beer that I want. I don’t jump on the bandwagon and do what everybody else is doing.

Not reading this whole thread - but two things:

If it comes up, I'll always say my other car is an 'SS Camaro', not just a 'Camaro'.

If its my Gladiator - most folks I'll just say I have a Gladiator. If they are a Jeep owner or some other person that 'might care' you better believe I'm gonna specify its a Max Tow. I don' even care about the Sport part

... it's this in-fighting between the trims that I find annoying ... and I'm not speaking of the tongue and cheek jabs for fun. I've started to un-follow certain FB groups where this activity is more prevalent.
Trim model fights are minor league. It it the powertrain fights that are fun to watch. Big gas against small gas and then gas vs. diesel dick waving sword fights are the best.

Or stick vs. automatic. The former obviously being more manly. (wait until THEY get old LOL)

And now we have some really hammering hard on the 4xe people claiming It's not really a Jeep, and you aren't a REAL Jeep owner unless you have done the Rubicon or harder trails.
Man the insults that were being tossed about - and so much being repeated from "I have this xxxx.com" web sites. There's a real growing hatred of the new Jeeps.
And those trashing the 4xe had never even driven one and were claiming they were far more inefficient because batteries take so much more to charge than you ever get back out - ignoring the fact that lithium batteries as used today are testing at 99.9% efficiency by LG and Samsung. What you put in, you get back out.

I've never had anyone call my JT anything other than "truck" or "Jeep" or "Jeep truck" when strangers come up and ask how I like it. Apparently non-Jeep people see it as a truck, it's the Jeep people that seem to have issues, or those who THIINK they know.

It is just weak minds and frail egos. If you are not like me, then you are wrong personas showing through. Trivial shit over nothing and first world problems.

Every change to a product line is going to have the "Statler and Waldorf" Muppet old man bitchers in the balcony sounding off.

No issues for me.
I do find it funny when people start adding their make, model or trim level on their vanity plates though.

And then you do something to hopefully prevent those who come up and say "is that a Charger?"
or "what year is that"............
Only to find out - they can't read, either.

Typical peasant Sport owner envy.

/s
Nothing to do with envy, Your paying for upgraded parts you'll upgrade anyhow. The point is people referring to Jeep by the trim level only, that goes across multiple Jeep models. Nothing to do with this forum by stating the trim/model helps everyone out when doing mods or repairs. Is it that big a deal? No but something I thought I would throw out there to distract from your work day.

I don't know why but when people say they have a Jeep Rubicon, Jeep Sahara or Jeep Mojave it drives me crazy it's the trim level not the Model. Anyone else feel this way?
Nahh that doesn't bother me... BUT WHAT DOES is when the "Gobi" owners have to put it in every sentence, before every word no matter the topic. My GOBI this, My GOBI that... gobi... gobi..gobi... ?

Even worse is everyone referring to them as “rigs”

“this is my rig”

“what do you think about my rig”

“nice rig”

I feel the same about stocks and foregrips/guards being referred to as “furniture”

can I also ask that people stop naming their rigs?? Ridiculous!
Kinda like someone using the word "JANKIE"
