Normally, I would never make this endorsement, but if you need impact sockets and want to save money, get the Pittsburgh sets from Harbor Freight.

I've beaten the living crap out of them and they have held up fine.

I have some of theirs in impact and chrome and zero issues as well.
These do have a nice storage case that would be handy to wheeling trips, but you could always put something together yourself.

Yep… I buy my impact sockets at HF too.. they’re a bit cheaper and if you ever break one, just take it in and get a replacement

We use Milwaukee impacts on the job. Nothing against them other than the cost. Both HF sets in 1/2" for less than half of the Milwaukee kit.

Never had a single issue with HF sockets of any flavor, and I use the them almost daily as an museum Aircraft restoration curator and I did my own lift installs on both our rigs

HF is very under rated

I still have my Snap-on tools from the 70s and love them. Sadly all I buy now are HF stuff.

The HF Icon line is easily a competitor to my Tekton, Gear Wrench, and Husky sockets. I've also been using a HF US General tool box for about a decade and it's given me less trouble than my new Milwaukee one has in a year (it keeps partially locking itself).

Back in '99, I scored a 570 piece Craftsman set from Sears Outlet for just $39. All USA made and they came in a box that weight atleast 60lbs. I still has all the pieces and using them. Other than that, the rest are Proto.

Yes sorta....the F-117 is Scorpion 4, the 4th prototype built and the 1st one to be stealth... the X-15 is a mockup of the #3 ship we lost just north of me, it has been on several movies such as 1st Man.... the other 2 are at the Smithsonian and the AF Museum

I'm a Museum Curator, that is my restoration hanger, the oldest and most famous one in the AF, Hanger 4305

Some really cool planes you’ve got there. That Nasa shuttle trainer in particular stands out, as I am typed in the G1159 as well!

The P-80 on the left is a looker too, I always loved how sculpted the intakes were on that aircraft, even if they weren't very efficient.

Proto are nice.

The Wera sockets are terrific, and their Joker ratcheting wrenches are the best I’ve used.

HF is hit and miss… for me it depends on frequency of use and safety.

When you have the rachet pawl break inside the rachet head causing you to break 2 ribs. I stay away from HF now.
